I complied.

I was on Military leave, from boot camp, and that $430, or so, was all I had. I felt raped, so I know how you feel.

necine, do you have a lawyer (or anyone with legal knowledge) you can talk to about getting your stuff back quicker?

Who the hell are you to demand proof of every declarative statement on ATOT? That's all they do at the scene is give you a case number. Is he supposed to give out the case number on a public BBS? Police reports aren't usually made until the end of the cop's shift and you can pick it up within the next day or two.
