Well if they spend their money responsibly, why not use a CC to get perks?
Because not everyone wastes time tracking down cards with the best perks? Spending money responsibly != spending money on cards with perks.

That's funny, I've been using CC since I was 17, never overcharged, never missed a payment, and collected a ton of cash backs. How do you not use AMEX for its extended warranty feature? How about the 5% cash back for gas? 3% for eating out? My debit card = ATM card.
