JUST GOT MY FEBRUARY EDITION OF GQ

It's highly disturbing that these assholes would find something like this funny. I'm now considering cancelling my subscription.

I don't think it's mocking those commercials cause they just came out last Sunday. The publishers thought of this way before that, I believe.

They are mocking the marketing device that everyone and their mother is using to peddle products.

Those who urge the purchase of their products "or else the terrorists have won" should be taken out back and shot.

to be honest, I never though GQ would stoop this low. Never known them for having a sense of humor, just gay europeans that know how to make excellent clothes.

BTW, GQ is a great mag. My girlfriend signed me up cause all I used to wear were suits or white shirts with black pants. Now I have a wide variety of choices. Articles are O.K., I guess.

Someone already mentioned this, but it seems to be mocking some other advertisers who have taken the route of basically saying, "if you don't buy our products, you're supporting terrorism."

Jay Leno has only been using that line as a joke every day for about the last
six months to make fun of some of the ridiculous statements that were made
at the time... such as if you don't continue shopping, terrorism will have won...
if you don't go to that expensive restaurant, terrorism will have won and so
on and so forth.

The joke (and it wasn't really that funny to begin with) has nothing to do with
those who died, but rather some of the directives given to the public afterwards.

It's just a joke...albeit in questionable taste. It does remind me of the famous "Buy this magazine or we'll shoot this dog" National Lampoon cover.

i stopped subscribing to GQ about 2 years ago when their writing went down the tubes and articles began to suck. although, there is a GQ article i really want to find, it's an interview with Osama Bin Laden from maybe 2 years ago. it might have been Esquire, but i'm pretty sure it was GQ, it was WAAAAAAYYYY before any of the terrorist stuff that happened this past year, and he warned that the US was going to be hit, when, and if i remember correctly, when the next attacks would come. I REALLY want to find this article, can anyone help???

You haven't been paying enough attention. This has been going on since a month after Sept. 11th, not since after the Super Bowl.

You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. It's a joke. If you don't want to believe it, then don't.
