All joking aside...
Don't get discouraged. I mean it.... if you cannot get into the college of your choice, community college or technical schools are just fine... dont let anyone discourage you... as long as you try your hardest...

And, I dont meann this to sound rude... but not everyone can be a doctor or a lawyer... blue collar workers have great job security... and to be honest, the world needs plumbers and electricians...

My b/f is dyslexic... he is bright, but sucked out in school.. back then there were no special programs, so he decided that college was not for him... now, he delivers fuel... owner/operator... he clears well over $2,000. per week working 3-4 days per week... and ya know what... the world could not get by without the ppl who do his job...

Just find what you are good at... change your attitude to the positive, and as long as you do your best, you will be fine.

I guess that's why thousands and thousands of foreign students flock to American Universities to pursue high-end degrees, right?

It's called CA-NA-DA as well. McGill, UofT, UBC all take in a LOT of int'l students - because don't forget not everyone can afford to pay the $40K tuitions at Harvard.

I go to Purdue, which has the highest foreign student population of any US University. We also have one of the nations top rated engineering programs. I don't want to hear sh!t about American universities having "too low standards"

Is that 2.1 in regular classes, or in Honors/AP/IB? I had a lowly 2.98 at one of the nation's top Public Highschools, and I thought it was rather horrible. I managed to get in everywhere I applied, but then again I didn't drool when I typed, nor was I half as dumb as you. Secondly, that SAT isn't really that great, in fact, I'd say your SAT and your GPA are your low point. Not only those two things, but your maturity level, your grammar and diction, and quite possibly your lack of self-reflection. I'll admit I didn't apply myself in HS, and I'm suffering now for it. Change now or you might not even get in College.

yes 2.1 in regular classes

and a 1240 SAT isnt bad At all... 1000 is an average score and i raped that

Hey, wait a minute, I went to Fairleigh Dickinson - at least, I took a bunch of classes there for my MS/CS. I didn't know they ever rejected anybody? Wow.

Though misspelling the name of the place would probably do it.

Thank you for donating the $40 application fee, which should help them defray the costs of other better-spelling students of all ethnic backgrounds.

IIRC, low GPA and high SAT score means you might be smart but you have poor work ethic. colleges stay away from that because it means you are more likely to fail out your first semester.

take KarenMarie's advice above (especially about changing your attitude...if your ATOT posting remotely reflects your real life attitude)

OR, get used to saying "you want fries with that, sir?"

I've never even heard of Farleigh Dickinson Why do you want to go there so bad? If nothing else, go to a community college for a year, get a 4.0, and transfer somewhere else. It's relatively easy to transfer in college.

Unless you're good enough to play for their sports team, they don't give a sh|t if you played football or not. They're not going to swoon over you like high school cheerleaders. LOL. Welcome to the real world.

im saying that i should have been accepted and they probaly gonna take some black guy Because of affirmative action

I love when stupid people blame minorities and affirmative action for not being smart enough to get into college. They don't even know the purpose/usage of affirmative action.

Yes, thanks...
And I am more proud of him that those who are really bright and breeze thru school. He was humilated, and ridiculed in school... the dumb one... they even put him on the little bus one year and sent him to a school for the unable to learn... he is very bright, but his letters and numbers get all fvcked up in his mind, and the teasing made him stutter.... how soul destroying that must have been, especially for someone who was NOT really stupid... but he did not quit... he finished high school, went to trade school and became a heavy machinery mechanic... and also studied electrics... he makes more money doing those things as side jobs now...

know what someone makes to do a 2 hour oil change on peterbuilt? hahaha.... or repair the breaks on a large catepiller thingy... (Iam the dope on that kinda stuff)... but he has large amounts of cash for these things that he does in his spare time, when he is not driving....

My point to the OP... if you cannot get a high paying white collar job, that does NOT mean that you cannot get a high paying blue collar one... and one that you can enjoy....

If we took 1/2 the system admins or stock brokers out of the job market... it would be ok... take away 1/2 the electricians, garbage collector, or fuel delivers, where would we be?

Chin up.. change direction.... hard work and the right attitude, and you will do fine.

For College Students, 1000 is not average. For all persons taking the test it is, but not for those going to college.

Holy Sh!t, you had Alumni in the family, and they STILL wouldn't let you in? I'd say you better start getting ready to flip burgers, or head to the crappiest CC you can find.
