Hey, wait a minute, I went to Fairleigh Dickinson - at least, I took a bunch of classes there for my MS/CS. I didn't know they ever rejected anybody? Wow.

Though misspelling the name of the place would probably do it.

Thank you for donating the $40 application fee, which should help them defray the costs of other better-spelling students of all ethnic backgrounds.

the application was free because my mom went to FDU

Holy Sh!t, you had Alumni in the family, and they STILL wouldn't let you in? I'd say you better start getting ready to flip burgers, or head to the crappiest CC you can find.

do they really consider that? i didnt mention it or anything u know. Like They basically sent me an application for free because my mom went there.

And she didnt really go there. she went to montclair And then Went To FDU and got some other degree. like she has a diploma from there but when she was like 18-22 She was at montclair

Sounds like she went there for a Graduate degree, so yes they would consider that when sending you an application.

Yes, they consider that. It can give a slight edge, so if you are borderline, it might make a difference. IIRC, if they sent you an application, it was already coded as coming from an alumni connection. So you didn't need to bother mentioning it. Especially if you didn't pay the fee.

I guess that's why thousands and thousands of foreign students flock to American Universities to pursue high-end degrees, right?

It's called CA-NA-DA as well. McGill, UofT, UBC all take in a LOT of int'l students - because don't forget not everyone can afford to pay the $40K tuitions at Harvard.

Canadian universities are much easier to get into than American Universities.

My grades are my low point. like 2.1 GPA and 1240 SAT. But i was also Captain on my football team and a eagle scout and my grades improved in the first part of senior year

Is that 2.1 in regular classes, or in Honors/AP/IB? I had a lowly 2.98 at one of the nation's top Public Highschools, and I thought it was rather horrible. I managed to get in everywhere I applied, but then again I didn't drool when I typed, nor was I half as dumb as you. Secondly, that SAT isn't really that great, in fact, I'd say your SAT and your GPA are your low point. Not only those two things, but your maturity level, your grammar and diction, and quite possibly your lack of self-reflection. I'll admit I didn't apply myself in HS, and I'm suffering now for it. Change now or you might not even get in College.

yes 2.1 in regular classes

and a 1240 SAT isnt bad At all... 1000 is an average score and i raped that

No, I remember all that "1000 is average" bull sh!t and its not true. A 1000 score gets you absolutlely nowhere, so don't try to make your self feel better by absorbing that "1000 is average" shit, because frankly, a 1000 sucks.

Booyah for blanket statements!

Sure, we don't have to do the SAT's, but it's definitely not easy to get into universities like Queen's, McGill, and Western.

Fairleigh Dickinson has one of the most lax admission policies in the nation. What were your stats?!

According to him, 2.1 GPA, 1240 SAT, Captain of the football team. Since you're super football, why not go for the NCAA?

Who said Bentley was hard to get into. I am talking about schools like CalTech, Havard, Yale, ect those are hard to get into.

You guys are being tough on him.....

Yes, a 2.1 GPA is pretty low...not even a high SAT score can help that...You dropped the ball in highschool. You may want to try a community college first. Nothing is wrong with them. They teach you the same things and you would probably get more attention. If you get out of Community college with atleast a 3.0, you open lots of doors to different colleges.

a 1000 SAT score is the avg, but it does not mean it is good or bad (Law of Averages). I have done pretty well and got into a decent college with an 1100 combined.

Why are you randomly bringing up Canada? He didn't imply that they only flock to American schools. He simply stated that thousands flock to American schools, which is true.

Bentley? I've never even heard of that before... are you trying to imply it's a top, prestigious school? The average SAT score there is 1185...
