Anyone know if we're supposed to return all of the accessories (I/O plate, SATA cables) with our old B2 stepping motherboards? Tried e-mailing Asus but no response yet.

Packaging Information:
•Must be packaged in a box; envelopes will be rejected
•We recommend 2 inches of padding around product itself (example: popcorn, bubble wrap, foam)
•For motherboards, install the original CPU socket cover to protect the pins from damage during transit
•If possible, include the original box and all bundled accessories

Really, I am only going to be sending back all original packaging, parts if they send me a complete retail box.

I saw it somewhere, FAQ or email correspondence related to the RMA probably, that said that they expected all accessories back.

I have received my replacement motherboard but haven't done anything with it yet because I have no appetite for risk right now should there be a problem in the reassembly. It came in a box with an RMA page and that was all. It had a standard retail box for the motherboard with all accessories. The only apparent difference is that it is emblazoned with notification that it contains the latest stepping.

My board is "out for delivery" as we speak...er, type.

**EDIT - JUST delivered about 10 minutes ago.

Since replacing exact same board, how big a pain will this be? Do I need to go into bios and set boot sequence? If I do, and once I do, should it just boot up normally?

Never had to do this before...

Yes all your BIOS settings are stored directly on the motherboard, so you will need to set everything up just like you did when you first set up the system.

Well I haven't even overclocked so I THINK all I need to do is set Boot Sequence and AHCI for hard drives...

I had to run the recovery program from my Win7 DVD to get it to boot into windows (had the black screen of death with the blinking cursor in the top-left). Once it repaired the boot manager, things went perfectly fine. It took ~5 minutes to automatically install all the device drivers, eventually told me I had to reactivate by phone, and that was it.

That is one thing I am concerned about, how does it give you the phone number to call?

When you go to activate windows, it'll give you a 1-800 number

Computer is up and running...

It hasn't even asked me to activate Windows again???

Is that ok?

**EDIT - activated windows online, didn't even need to call!

Got my email today with return shipping labels to use with Fed-ex...

So hopefully my motherboard ships in a few days...

Hmm, a bit odd.. I received the new motherboard yesterday but haven't gotten a return shipping label yet. I checked the site and it doesn't have anything on the "RMA Number issued". Anybody else running into the same problem?

Asus sent me the same and then shortly after I received one from Newegg. I was able to get mine from the latter in overnight!

Did my P8P67 Pro reinstall tonight. I finally got to put a real HSF (Dark Knight) on there. I forgot about resetting the CMOS prior to starting it so I had a few nervous moments. I booted, set up my BIOS preferences, and got in to Windows. I had no activation problems. There were a few driver installs - Bluetooth and my Audigy sound card were what I noticed. It is now completely working and I will ship back the old one on Friday.

I also noticed that my box had an Asus HS-101 microphone/headphones set. I had no idea that was part of the RMA.

I don't get those headphones with the left side shorter...

Scratch that. I got the activation message and it has decided my key is no longer legitimate. Annoying...

I had to call the activation line and talk to a person and she made it work. She didn't discuss a problem or anything.

Got my new board in the mail yesterday. It's a full retail box with all accessories. I'm going to set up the new board today and report back if I need to do a Win7 repair or not.

I don't think I got the headphones with mine either, but it was a new retail board in box.

I just did the switch and I didn't have problems booting Windows under IDE mode but AHCI mode is still screwed up (this is probably because I've changed motherboards three or four times for this build.. I've been lazy to reinstall Windows).

Same here. All works fine, but had to call MS to re-activate. Got the phones which is their "offer of appreciation" / per attached document.
