I just got the retail Barton 2500+ in, thanks for those who voted in the poll.

Anyone know how this might overclock?

Running at 2.3ghz right now, 36C under load, 1.75 core voltage.

Goes to 2.2ghz and passes prime95 @ stock voltages.


It boots into windows at 2.34 but fails prime95 @ 1.8v

I have to run to work so I guess Ill leave it as it is for now. Tempted to push it to 1.85 and see if it can pass prime95 @ 2.35

Smooth, I've taken my 0319 week (forgot the stepping) to 2.3 at 1.75 as well. Wasn't entirely stable though, so I settled on 2.1 @ stock vcore. Have fun with a nice chip.

I haven't seen too many of the E steppings, most of them have been D's so far. Does that letter really signify anything or is it just because its retail? <--- ignorant

quite impressive. My asus a7n8x is the 1.04 revision and doesn't like fsb past 184, so to get my 2500+ higher i resorted to multiplier. Prime is solid at 184x12, but i usually run it at 166x12.5 as a 2800+

All revisions of the A7N8X officially support 200MHz FSB with the latest bios update. If your system isn't stable above 184 FSB, you might want to have a word with Asus about the legitimacy of their claims. Peace.

I have contacted ASUS about the claim of the 400mhz...so far their advice has given me more problems.

I think the asus board will only support 400 mhz chips at 400 mhz, not a 333mhx chip at 400 mhz.

i have an a7n8x deluxe /xp2500. the best i get out of it is 12.5X/171 fsb. using a volcano 11. running distributed folding stable.

ok.... looks like this is a problem for everyone then =/ but i've seen a lot of people do 200x11 using an a7n8x and a 2500+, but it's prolly with the 2.0 pcb

I have a asus a7n8x (1.04)

2500+ @ 11.5x 200 at stock vcore It can do 12x200 at 1.75

Right now my temps are reading funny but both settings are stable.

With 1.85 volts I was able to hit 2.35ghz and prime95 for a while. Im going to let it settle in for a day while I wait for my XMS3200 ram and then give her another go.


My core voltage is like .5 higher than what I set it in bios for some reason. So 1.85 is actually being set at 1.8 /shrug. Annoying but at least the reading is correct I hope.

I just noticed my core voltage goes up to 2.2 ....

Yeah a lot of the NF2 boards undervolt a little on the vcore.

Same here, mine overvolts by .25 on my Soltek

Bios and Sisoft sandra both report it as a .2-.5 overvolt, it fluxuates a lot. Kinda disturbing, its a soild Enermax 350 PS with good rail voltages

im not on a NF2 but my KD7-RAID over volts my setup is 1.975v and she hits as much as 2.02v with no problem LOL
