Just installed 4870 x2, and catalyst 8.9, no cf page to be found..

I don't see the enable crossfire page anywhere in the drivers what the hell is going on? I have a 965p-ds3

It doesn't have one AFAIK, since CF is always enabled. No point in being able to do anything to disable it etc since it's part of the card.

Lonyo is correct, it is always on. Just make sure you have Catalyst AI on at least Standard and you should be good to go

ok.. well my fps is slower than my former 280 gtx in warhead and I have tried r_multigpu 1, & 2 but no luck, I also don't notice any AA active when I set it 4x in game and in 4x in drivers, I don't think I'll ever buy another ATi card after this..

If it's anything like what's show on this benchmark:

Then your performance is to be expected, since you will be system limited being at "only" 1920x1200, where there is minimal difference between the GTX280 and an HD4870X2.

DX10 Enthusiast enables CE2's built-in 'Edge AA' which prevents normal AA from being forced on.

Make an autoexec.cfg in the Warhead root directory and paste this in:

con_restricted = 0
r_UseEdgeAA = 0

Which may or not be related to AA stuff. I don't know as I use DX9 and haven't tried AA.

that's not true, 280 gtx works fine with AA, while I had edgeaa set to 2

The cards are pretty much even in Crysis... Every other game you need to run at least 1920x1200 (even 2560x1600) to see noticeable difference (since the GTX280 is plenty fast anyway). But all it took was one or two read-ups on both cards...

Make SURE Cat AI is not disabled

Crysis runs on an X2 is like a single 4870

i hope you didn't buy it for Crysis ... everything else is pretty much faster on the X2 [maybe not Oblivion and titles where the X2 doesn't scale]

Heck i got X3 = x2 + 4870

I just got it from bestbuy I can return it anytime and I will because it even fails to run UT3 properly with flashing on/off horizontal dark lines (not artifact)

i got my X2 at best buy also - for $469 a couple of weeks after it released. Other than it runs [really] really hot, i like it.
- no complaints or issues now that the fan is no longer annoying

it's faster than my 280GTX

I had a OCZ 600w PSU and I had nothing but problems with my CrossFireX setup so I end up buying the Antec 850w and now everything is stable. I think your 650w psu is not enough for the X2.

I'm running a Corsair HX620 with no issues. I do believe though, I'm reaching the limit of it with my current hardware and I have a Velociraptor waiting to be installed. Probably will get a Corsair TX750 really soon.

of course it can be the card
-they do have a defective rate as does all HW

but then it can be your impatience also with what is basically equal to a GX2 in complexity and it also has the deficiencies of multi-gpu that need some "fiddling with" in CCC.

i also have a 4870x2 and a 280GTX [on the other partition] and they both run flawlessly. However, the x2 is definitely faster.

you don't need to kiss anybody's butt .. AMD and Nvidia both make great products and support them well
