Shame on me for not checking the specific voltages, but at the time I knew something was wrong based on the other issues. I am not an expert, but unless my eyes are deceiving me the caps are just as johnnyGURU described.

Complete bull. If the Truepower 2 has no bad caps issues, then WHY did my truepower 2 have bad caps and pop one? Hmmmm....???? Answer me that, Antec! Heck, you even should have the bad one I RMA'ed now as well, I sure doubt that newegg kept it as a memento.

What should I say in response? I wont exactly lose any sleep if they don't allow me to RMA the PSU since I've got the OCZ now but it sure would be nice if they did. As such, I want to make sure I don't ruin my chances by not properly stating my case.

Thanks guys!

Fortunately I have a DMM (digital multi-meter), so I'm able to verify output voltages. Recently I had a sp350w Antec PSU just go out 12 days after the 1 year anniversary. It was bundled with the 1650 case. I called them and they asked me how I knew why I didn't have any voltages out, and I promptly told them that I measured the input voltage (120v AC) and then measured the output voltages (none were even working). I even told them that I thought that the fuse probably had blown, but didn't know for sure, since I didn't want to open up the case. There was a long pause and then they started giving me RMA instructions. They were very pleasant and I didn't have any issues with them. This whole process is taking about 3-4 weeks to get the replacement. I had to spend $9 to ship the bad PSU back, but I should be recieving the new (380w Earthwatts!!!) today. So I'm hopefull that all works out. I hope that you will have a similar result as I did. If you can get someone to checkout your PSU for you, than I would do that. If you don't have someone to do it, than I'd just speak with Antec and tell them what you found (capacitor tops are popped up). Hopefully you won't have too much grief over it after explaining the situation.

Tell them what you told us - "OK then, if they don't have this capacitor issue, then WHY can I see them blown when I look through the fan grill??"

Besides, if it isn't powering the system properly it shouldn't matter if the caps are bad or not, they should replace it.

They are bluffing. If you can, make a picture like johnnyguru posted, so we can doublecheck for bulging caps. If they are truly bulging or have sprung, tell them you can obviously see bulging caps, and even if they aren't the dreaded fuhjyyu, they are still the reason to the PSU failure, and thus the PSU needs to be replaced. Stay nice and gentle, and they should respond in kind. Maybe the guy that responded to you had a bad day, or doesn't know what he is talking about.

Well I did what you told me and received an email this morning with my RMA number and instructions to mail it off! Now I wonder what they will do, repair or replace? If the latter, what will be the replacement?

I heard a lot of ppl received antec earthwatt units as replacements. With some luck you'll get an antec earthwatts 500w. Or another qaulity antec PSU without the bad caps.

Well I just got my replacement yesturday. It was a sp350w PSU. When I was talking to them on the phone they were telling me that a 380w Earthwatts is what I was getting, but maybe because I was past the 1 yr. anniversary that they sent me a repaired one back. Don't know, but at least I have one back. Only cost me $9 to ship back, so that wasn't too bad for a replacement that would've cost me about $30 after MIR, if I could find one right now.
