Just installed OpenOffice 1.12 and where is the icons?

I just installed the linux version of Open Office 1.12 for my fedora core 1 box.

When it finished, it didn't created any program groups or icons on the desktop.
It didn't updated the old existing Open Office 1.10 or remove it from the system.

I know how to create the icons by right click and create a shortcut to the bin file.
But where can I get the updated icons for the programs.
Also how can I uninstall the old Open office to save some space, thou I do have a 30gig harddrive that I am running it on.

Fedora should have a package manager that you can select things to uninstall and the like.

As for creating icons on the desktop, just open/copy one of the existing ones up with gedit (or some other text editor) and make changes as you require

Just installed 1.1.2 - dear Lord!! What on earth did they tweak to (finally) reduce the startup time by that much?

To remove the old open office use rpm -e openoffice 1.10 (or whatever the package name happens to be). As far as the menu, I believe there is an update-menu command, i am not sure because I do most of my stuff from the CL.
. I think that not updating or rmoving the older packager is actaully a good feature.Too often have I installed some new version only to find I did not work as well or at all/
