Trivial is the correct word. The amount of emotion I'm prepared to invest in the moral consequences of removing mice from my work space or home is trivial.

In my work place my SOP dictates I use glue traps because mechanical ones fail too often. And the few times I've had mice in my home my cats do their thing and I find its corpse left near the litter box. No need to worry about traps at all.

Yeah I'm sure you're smarter than the people who wrote my SOP's. They aren't left to rot unattended and I usually get two or three mice in one trap. I've dicked around with the mechanical traps before and quality glue traps beat them out for reliability and ease of use.

And my workplace isn't and unsanitary pit. There is a large room where I store animal feed, and where there's food you'll eventually have to deal with rodents. I also use glue traps to deal with grain moths. Am I heartless bastard for letting bugs starve to death too?

Don't take my word for it. I'm using not only my experience, but information from the CDC and pest control operators. People who actually know their shit. And it is common sense - glue traps are as unsanitary as anything.
