Just landed in Beijing. I have no idea what to do.

Learn to plan ahead instead of react to what comes at you.

I think it's better being a good reactionary. Many 'planners' can't handle disruption. Something doesn't go per plan, and everything goes to hell. Being reactionary makes you flexible, and prepared for anything that can come up. I don't like plans because almost nothing goes per plan. If I were in China, I'd just hit the road and see stuff. There's no doubt in my mind I'd do pretty well, and have a good time.

The FBB adventure search will never end with an adventure. Go call your mema, have her pick you up as planed. Then get to work on your "should I buy a Lamborghini to drive around china" post.

Sorry but going to a foreign country for the first time when you don't know the language, you have to have at least some rudimentary planning done like where you are going to be sleeping(his parents canceled a few day before the trip, so did he have hotel reservations already?) or how you're going to get to places. Asking about renting a car after he lands, idiotic.

A little research and making a list of things you want to see beforehand would be a starting point, everything else can be determined around that.

what makes it worst is the OP is asian/chinese, a Chinese that can't speak or undersstand Chinese. The locals are gonna have fun with him. China is a survival of the fittest country, they can spot him as a foreigner miles away. they are gonna take advantage of him, or worst like prick him with a needle infected with HIV, etc. I doubt that he can survive 2 days, let alone 2 months.

FBB went to China without a plan. I'm somewhat impressed and not surprised.

Maybe this is the start of his global trek.

Buy a Chinese car. I hear they look like European cars, only a lot cheaper.

I have my reservations about op surviving in NYC, let along Beijing.

Yet, we need another thread.

From the 2nd thread:

This will be my first major trip like this on my own.

From a couple of months ago. So he's been planning to be by himself this whole time anyway, even if his parents had gone. WTF.

Attention whoring is not a good way to keep friends fuzzy.
