Too bad there are other threads that have shown proof (somewhat) that the GTX 512 has a core speed of 490mhz and memory at 1700mhz, all we have to rely on here is your word, hell youve been a member for over a year and you dont even have 50 posts...

Tell you what, bring a camera to Mwave and take a picture of what the specs and show us, then Ill believe you.

Mwave is a business that allows for local pickup. They have a front desk and the works for such things. I've been there, pretty nice.

Gawd, I wish ZZF would get that going.

No one can guess the future and what retailers will charge, but we have heard ATI is actually asking vendors to raise MSRP from $550 to $600.

Not doubting you but I havn't seen anything saying that ATI was asking vendors to raise MSRP, I'd love a link because I must have missed it. Also Rollo if the XT is beaten as badly as people are assuming and does come in at its $650 MSRP then the price on the XTs will probably drop and make them a better deal then they are now. My guess is that the GTX 512MB with create a new ultra highend price point and religate the xt and 256MB GTX to just very highend.

I'm still not going to comment on MSRP or expected street, but I'll reiterate $600 X1800XTs are going to look like a very bad deal very shortly.

Take it easy there, buddy, or else you'll have to go get a clean pair of underwear. I'm surprised you didn't buy one of these since you have such a hard on for the card, $800 is probably a good deal in your mind.

Why is he going to buy one at a premium price when he can get it for $599 or $649 when it launches in the next week? And please stop resorting to personal attacks, M0RPH.

Since i scored ~ 9400 w/ a 520/1.4GHz /w a 4200 OC Dual cored 81.85, with a stock 580/1.73GHz setting, I would think this would easily eclipse the 10K mark stock. I wouldn't bet AGAINST not reaching 11K 3DM05 either when overclocked to say 625/1.85GHz /w some aftermarket cooling. I also think that this must be a die shrunk 90mm process, given those new speeds w/ of course GDDR3 memory.

I'm itching for scores from Uberhunter like everyone else though lol.

UberHunter just posted....managed to see his post but now server is down. 3dMark05 of 9100 on 2d settings, 3d settings won't work for him for some reason. He played FEAR on max settings, 1600x1200, and it was smooth as butter on his 2405.

Umm... How can anyone NOT have a hard on for this card?!? And btw (before you start wimpering about fanboy crap), if this was ATI's card, I'd still have my hard on and my next gpu would be from ATI.
I do have my loyalties, and that would be to whomever offers the best product. But, it would appear that Nvidia is currently mopping the floor with ATI's ass.

Here is your 'proof.' Given that it is the Inquirer, one should take this with a grain of salt. However, the Inquirer has been on target with a lot of their assumptions lately, so this may be worth a mention

He's going to need the updated drivers to get the card working right. But, even at 2d speeds (which he hasn't posted what they are), he scored 9100 on 2k5. That should say something (normally 2D has the same memory speeds as the 3D, but core is heavily downclocked, for those that weren't aware).

24 pipes @ 580MHz vs. 16 pipes @ 625MHz? Awesome. Now I want power draw numbers.

Right. Like it would score 9100 at 275MHz core. Not quite.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was operating at full 3D speeds when he got that 9100.

Man nVidia is brilliant. They totally destroyed all interest surrounding the X1800XT LOL! Good I hope they kick ATi really hard while they're down - they deserve it for the false promises as of late.

It was 2D mode dude, just accept it.

How do you know? Were you there? Got a screenshot or something? Or do you always believe what some random person tells you without any questioning?

Yeah, it was probably 2D mode but it sure as hell wasn't 275 core.

I've stated multiple times that I won't trust the INQ but this article has inaccuracies that make me doubt it further. "WHEN ATI sent cards out to reviewers they had a price tag but no date for availability." Look at AT's review they say the release date is November 5th. "it had a manufacturer recommended price of $549, about $100 higher than the 7800GTX," what a funny sentence, the MSRP of the XT is actually lower (unless you believe this article) but the GTX has dropped to around $500 (on average), 549-500=49 not 100.

Anyway back on topic over 9K in 3DMark05 is amazing, but the question still remains will supply line up, between the ultra fast memory and the high clocks, how many will actually be available?

Why do I need to be there or have a screenshot? It's been confirmed by the guy at nVnews and HardOCP that the current drivers do not function properly with the 512 GTX. The guy at nVNews confirmed he had to switch to 2D mode to get the thing to run 3dmark05 properly. It's been confirmed through a leaked XFX bios from a few days back that 2D mode is 275 mhz so what exactly is so hard for you to believe? In fact I'll put mine in 2D mode with bandwidth around 1400 mhz and see how it does as a comparison.

Edit: 3DMark05 @ 275/1400 on my 256 MB 7800 GTX

With the current GTX, you need to overclock pretty much to the max to get a score like 9100. But you're suggesting that the faster/additional memory is gonna allow you to drop the core down to a measly 275 and still get a 9100. Extremely unlikely.

Yes that's what I'm saying. I scored almost 6400 with my GTX with the core at a "measly" 275 mhz and memory at only 1400 mhz (330 mhz short of his). I'm pretty sure he has a faster CPU then I do as well and the extra 256 mb ram + possible tweaks to the core probably help.

Well considering we still know next to nothing about this card, it could possibly have tweaks to the memory controller like it was rumored. The extra bandwith and 256 mb memory probably helps too. Even if it wasn't 275 mhz, it couldn't have been too much higher.
