I've never understood why people like Motorstorm so much... I have it and it's always felt like such a mediocre title. Yay for a handful of vehicles to start with. Only good thing is some of the music... can't beat some Pendulum!

Psshhh...you're probably just bad at it. *kidding*

I love Warhawk. Once you kinda figure out what you're doing, learn some new stuff, I had tons of fun playing it. I'd say there's nothing else out there like it. I had more fun playing it than the original Halo (and Halo used to be my favorite game for a long while).

I could understand someone not liking or preferring it, but terrible??? C'mooonnn. That's a big exaggeration (look at its reviews).

However, the number of players are falling...you can still find a couple hundred games to play in, but eventually it will die out.

And...whatever anyone else recommended.

i don't care what reviews say, the game is just flat out terrible IMO. my friend and i both bought it when it dropped to $30, but we found it in stores for $30 w/the headset.

we both played for like 2-3 hours and both thought it was just terrible. i tried and tried but it is just a bad game imo. the control is honestly my main gripe, it is just very poorly thought out. why the hell does R1/L1 make the tank go forward/back and then R2 fires? that is a terrible control scheme (it was something like that). then the controls felt like it was lagged or delayed, and were just very "slippery" all around.

the warhawks controlled pretty cool though and I enjoyed the matches that were strictly dogfights where you couldn't even get out of the warhawks.

i thought the levels were terrible in design (just very plain and boring, no kind of "feel" to them), the control was poor, the sound and graphics are very meh, and the game was just not fun at all, even after 3 hours of gameplay.

im glad i could sell it for the $30 i paid for it, and i do not recommend this game to anyone at all. if you want a vehicle game get BF:BC, and I don't even like battlefield games.

I just got my PS3. It is the newer 40 GB model but am getting it for $299 by using the Sony CC deal ($100 credit on 1st purchase). Have hardly any PS2 games so not a huge issue no BC. I have heard these have smaller die CPU so hopefully will run cooler and last longer.

Anyway, watched my first Bluray last night and it was gorgeous on the 46-inch Sammy LN46A650 1080P.

I just got my first game: Folklore for $29.95 at Wally World. It got a high rating and I like both RPG's and Action, and this combines both. I'll let you know how I like it.

GTAIV
Orange Box (Portal and TF2 are fantastic...plus, you get HL2 + Episodes 1 and 2 as well)
GT5P
MGS4
Madden 09
COD4

Have fun!

I think he meant "How" as in "How do you like it?"

How did you get it for $29.99? Pricematch to gamestop/ebgames?

Most other places have it for $59.99

Walmart is selling Folklore for $29. Apparently it has been out long enough that the price has been reduced. I've been in two different Walmarts in two different cities (which had the game in the PS3 section) and they were both priced at $29

This is the first game I've ever played on the PS3 but the graphics were hi def and looked very nice on my 46-inch 1080P LCD. So far I just played through the opening sequence and learned the battle system and am getting acustomed to it. Not bad but I'm not a hard core gamer like many. My console experience is fairly limited an most of my gaming has been PC (Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, etc) and some GC games like Zelda:WW and a few others.

The look and graphics are a major upgrade from the 480P systems. I'm going to try the demo for Heavenly Sword next of the PSN.

If you ever think you'll want the PSEYE, grab the Eye of Judgement bundle from Walmart before they run out. It's been marked down to $30 nation-wide (less than the camera by itself!).

I got my PS3 this weekend, plugged in via HDMI, and it looks awesome! Played some MSG4 (in total newbie mode). Looks great, but I'm not really getting into it much yet. I guess I just don't like having to sneak around everywhere. I shot some soldiers, and my "boss" told me not to. Hopefully it will get better soon.

I'm loving the Blu-Ray and DVD upconverting. Looks great!

Gratz TK,

I've been using my PS3 for about 4 days, exploring the abilities and watching a couple of BR movies. The movies look awesome and yes, the upverting of std DVD's is quite good. I played a wide screen DVD Lord of the Rings movie and even zoomed it in by one notch (half way between full cinima wide screen format and full 16:9) and the picture still looked good.

The only game I've tried is Folklore - and it looked very nice. I only played through the opening segments and first battle to but the game looks to be enjoyable. I also signed up for the Play Station Network and downloaded several demo's. My daughter tried Naruto and once she figured out the controls, wanted it. I tried Heavenly Sword (very short demo) and was really impressed. The marial arts moves looks more realistic and flowing and less mechanical than many other fighting games I've seen. HS is on my buy list.

If I was a betting man, I would bet than Heavenly Sword will be in the next round of Greatest Hits titles.

Loved Heavenly Sword too - rent it though. Just too short, hence not worth buying.

Found a copy at my local Block Buster for $35 used. I'm going to pick it up. I would rent but I know my daughter wants to play it too (she tried out the demo and loved it too) and she is only with me every other weekend. So having my own copy is preferred. At nearly half retail new, I'll grab it. Even as a greatest hit title, it probably won't be that much cheaper.

I've done some more checking and I think Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (title?) looks like a great adventure game.

It has some of the best voice acting and motion capture I've seen. Nothing too overdone (e.g. MGS4), and at least one of the cast is an actual TV actor.

I'll keep an eye out for a good buy on Uncharted.

BTW, I just picked up Heavenly Sword for $35 at Block Buster "used" section. It looks essentially knew and the disc is immaculate. It seems with a little effort, you can score a lot of games for half or 2/3rd retail unless you have to get something right after release.

The demo of Heavenly Sword had a list of button strokes for battle moves. Anyone find those easy to master?

Burnout Paradise. And even though the controls and graphics kinda suck, Kane and Lynch should be good for a rental.
