You gave him a very nice tip. $3 tip on a $10 tab is better than 33%; I'd have thanked you profuselyl.

But, since you opted to try and sport your epenis, I give you a ZERO for all skills.

You suck, etc, etc.

$3 on a $10 bill is a 30% tip.

OK, fine, whatever. It's technically a 3.3333333333333333333333333333333333 tip. So, only 30.33333333333% percent. Fricking geeks.

Happy now?

LOL

you still got it wrong michael

it would be 33.3333333333% and no need to put it twice.

Frankly, myself and LordMaul seem to be the only folks actually comprehending the concept here.

I never claimed to be a mathematical genius like you guys. OTOH, I can actually check my items out at the counter at the grocery store w/a female cashier w/o spooging all over myself and then posting about here.

Working for tips sucks. I've done it.

There is no honor, coolness or l44ness (<-that is the new hip version of l33tness...it's ONE more (1 more) than 33...fckers...) in ripping off someone that works for tips.

If you've ever had to pay the rent or hold a second job working for tips you'd understand.

Piss off. I'm going back to my movie. Jerks.

Now I'm all confused. Have I been out of school THAT long

3 dollar tip on a ten dollar order isn't 33.33%, IS IT?!?! That would imply that it is 1/3rd, right? And 1/3rd of 10 is 3 dollars and 33 cents.. So I thought it was a 30% tip

I'm not ripping on you. Simply correcting a mathematical mistake.

And no, it's not 30.33333 %. $3 tip on a $10 bill is EXACTLY 30%.

It is. I miscalculated. Those that are of mathematical, but small minds chose to make that abundantly clear

And it doesn't fricking matter anyway!

Know what matters? This.

/Pizza guy pulls up to your address with pizza/wings/soda totalling $16.92.

/You hand him a $20, say "thanks" and close the door

/He is happy

that's what matters. He's working for a living and you're doing the right thing.

O.k., I was all confused there.

Anyway, 3 bucks is a good tip.

I used to deliver pizzas and I know all about surviving on tips.

Aren't you used to that sort of thing by now? This is ATOT after all, and trying to pound logic into the thick, impenetrable skulls of n00bs gets quite repetitive around these parts.

Noobies?

bs. besides, the point he made was wasted on the OP. no one here is changing their minds. but his math was wrong. i still can't get how he managed to get it so wrong.

1/3 is .333333 and 3/10 is .30000 that's about as easy as it gets when talking percentages.

and this is not the first thread where people got sidetracked. hell none of these thread would get longer than 5 or 6 posts if people didn't get sidetracked.

Oooooh, my math is wrong!!! :Q It's the worst thing in the world when dealing with geeky dweebs that have a 4.0 average in Geometric Analytical Calculus for Structural Engineering with DNA Strands.

These same people have to call Blondstar to get themsevles out of their vehicles though.

/goes to read Math for dummies so he can try to fit in

An hour and a half later my food shows up (one of the sub shops delivery guys got robbed and backed up the entire store, so the time was forgiveable). Anyhow, the guy comes, and I give him a 20, I didn't have anything else but a few ones. He gives me 2 fives back, thinking that ill be forced to give him a 50% tip, but then bam, I pull 3 ones out of my pocket, he gets this ill look on his face, and I shut the door with a smile

Moral of the story: don't try and cheat customers

$2 considering it takes 10 - 15 minutes

This is on a $10-$14 haircut
Same here (for $11-$12 cut).

It is not math skills that gets you through life, young Padawan.

Guys like you would begin to cross the street, see the bus coming, and say "Statistically, I have a 74.323% chance of surviving should I attempt to run at this moment at approximately 10.12mph....I think I'll make it!"

Thanks goodness for Darwin...that's all I've gotta say.

i always give the pizza guy a good tip, cause you know more than half the time
they're getting the shaft.

I like to see the look of surprise on their face when they get the good tip

---------------------

i always think of the movie Reservoir Dogs when the tipping subject comes up

"throw in your tip like everyone else you cheap bastard!"

I'm sure he gave you the two $5s for convenience. You would have started a thread if he gave you change in quarters.

Why would you automatically think he was expecting a $5 tip by giving you two fives back? I deliver pizza part time and the bank I carry usually consists of two five dollar bills, eight one dollar bills and the rest in coins. I would have had to give you two fives back and I would have been more than happy with the $3 tip. If everybody tipped $3 I would be ecstatic.

What happens if someone only has a $50 or a $100?

They need to inform the order taker, and I take more change with me. Delivery drivers really do only carry a $20 bank. Almost all restaraunts that deliver have drop boxes and as a delivery driver you must make drops after every run.
