Just played with the Surface Pro 2 at the MSFT store

So I was a pre-order customer for the Surface Pro 128gb, and now I'm pondering pre-ordering the SP2 128gb. Best Buy is offering $350 for the trade-in of my Surface Pro 128gb (just slightly less than Gazelle.com) and since mine has primarily sat in my bar room being used once a week for Cocktail Flow, it's in near perfect condition. I also have both touch and type covers for it, but there's no word on being able to trade those in. Has anyone heard about Microsoft's Trade-In program?

It's looking like it'd be $1000 for SP2 128gb, $120 for the touch cover 2, $120 for the type cover 2, minus the $350 I can get for my original Surface Pro. It doesn't sound like a great deal to be honest. :\

Uh I would give you more than 350 for a 128gb surface pro.

Yeah, sell it on AT or eBay, you'll probably get a better price.

Yeah definitely can get more than that for it. If I had the disposable money to be able to offer you a fair price on it I would.

Of course, with how you use it, I have to ask, do you not use it much because of the limitations (like battery life) or something? If not I can't imagine what upgrading to the new one would resolve for ya. But yeah, I'd love to take it off your hands for about [chef's father] three fiddy [/chef's father].

Maybe there'll be a special on refurbs of the first gen Pros. I'd love one to be able to sketch/draw on and I'd have a bunch of other uses for it. I was looking at the Note 10.1 or the Atom based Samsung tablet/netbook type of thing (with the S Pen but the awful previous gen Atom GPU on Windows...), and the Surface would be way better than those for my uses.

No, like I said I don't have much use for it. I'm just a huge MS fanboy (also have a Nokia 920 and 3 other Windows 8 PCs.) I don't think there's anything the new one would do better for me in particular, but the better specs & battery life are alluring.

The 1020 doesn't offer anything over the 920 that I feel I would appreciate (just a better camera IIRC) and the 1520 is too big to fit in normal pockets.

1520 is too big, but Verizon has the 929 (1320?) with a "smaller" 5 inch screen that you may be interested in. This is what I'm more interested in atm.
