Team Anandtech is around 41 Million from /. If we pick up our pace just a tad (or even better, catch up with the DPC rate!), we will not only pass /. very soon, but we can be the first team to 500,000,000 blocks (1/2 Billion!:Q:Q:Q)! This may have been posted before but I can't remember (If it has been posted, I give the original poster all the credit!)! Doesn't that sound really nice!

The only problem is that we may not be the first team to 600,000,000 blocks though

Hi Engineer,

At yesterday's speed TA will reach 500.000.000 in app. 62 days.

Here are some other figures:

500.000.000

TA - 62 days
/. - 77 days
DPC - 105 days

600.000.000

TA - 135 days
DPC - 154 days
/. - 256 days

TA > /. - 51 days
DPC > /. - 79 days

I think it's fair to say that somewhere within the next two months there is a new overall leader of RC5.

Hopefully for you guys the project will last that long.

Adios

DeJa Vu!

This project will probably last for some time! HOPEFULLY! Have finally started reaping the benefits of assimilation, and would hate to see this thing end!

Engineer's RC5 goal isn't too off the wall guys! We can do it!

Even those K6-2s can help out, if not in RC5, just add 'em to OGR. The OGR team will be more than grateful. Just added a K6-2 today.

Another wrinkle to throw in. I am currently running OGR (except on a few assimilated machines that are beyond easy reach).

I am considering a temporary switch back to RC5 to aid in the race to 500M, but I'd like to know -

When TA finds the RC5-64 key, who is switching to OGR and who is leaving for some other non-DNet contest?????

I believe in the underlying mathematical and practical uses of Optimal Golomb Rulers and have been a strong supporter in the forums. Eventually, RC5-64 will be solved. It could be tomorrow, it may be 300 days from now. Have you thought about what you will do when that day comes.

I'll probably stay with DNet projects, especially OGR.

JonB,

I probably will switch to OGR after the RC5 contest. Maybe not all machines but a large number of them anyway.

The OGR project is also having great stats (ergo competitive urge) and the Dnet client is proven to be the most stable one of all DC-projects until now.

Peter.

Speaking only for myself I will most likely go over to OGR after RC5-64 is done, unless something comes along that really catches my fancy.

Im not sure what Ill do after RC5 is done. If I were to chose now I would run OGR because the SETI client still needs alot of work. But odds are I might drop the distributed computing thing for a while once its done.

For lack of something better to do I would switch to OGR. It may only be temporary but most likely what would happen at first.

I don't want to think about anything except RC5 and the /. & DPC right now (more the DPC than /.) ...The off to OGR (of course) for me....

JonB,

Once RC5 is wrapped up and Team AnandTech has utterly decimated all competition, One of Borg will stay with dnet and ask the rest of TA Cube to do likewise.

I'm gonna see if I can get my friend's comp to run RC5 under my name and TA especially since hes running a P3600 that isn't used a lot.

I'd probably run GF on my current machine(PMMX 200), as OGR is too slow, but if it were faster, I'd probably do OGR.
