Just saw Deja Vu

I thought this movie was total crap. It moved by at a slow steady pace with a constant dramatic score in the background. The movie didn't even seem to have any action in it, it was just boring from start to finish because every moment in the movie was over-dramatic. By the time I thought it was almost over, there was another 40 minutes ahead. At least they were a bit more exciting, but still nothing impressive.

The characters also seemed to overact when it came to drama. A stranger gets shot and everyone starts crying. How the main character falls in love with the woman he's trying to save just by looking at daily habits is beyond me. It felt forced on me. The characters didn't seem natural. Even at the end, the woman is also in love with him even though they've only met for a few hours and is still confused about the whole situation. And at one section, the movie forced on us a "romantic moment" and then they kissed just like that. Out of character, with no buildup to it. She also steps out of character to try and become a hero, WTF. At one point she seems frail and confused like a defenseless bunny, then she's literally jumping from a platform onto a boat.

And the time-traveling seems filled with paradoxes. About the only good thing I can say about this movie is that there are 3 or 4 clever jokes in it.

I just got back from seeing it and I loved it. Also, just like any other movie dealing with some form of time travel, or course there's gonna be loopholes and paradoxes, just look at Back to the Future or Terminator. I did really like seeing that sending the note and then later on having him go back didn't make that big of a difference, it made everything connect.

Are you kidding? This movie was great! It only got like a 63% on rottentomatoes, but I really liked it. Part of the story seems kind of absurd, but it's put together really well and brings u along for a trippy ride.

SPOILER!!! Denzel shouldve just zapped a post-it note to his forehead instead of trying to put it on his desk.

yeah but if he zapped it wrong by half a inch, denzel from before would be sorta screwed.

Spoiler: it was pointless for him to rearrange the letters on the fridge, they were already on a different continuum. the whole climax was based on what the girl did.

it was a man movie. chase scene, shower scene, denzel, explosions. :thumbsup:

Just saw it - cool flick. People on IMDB are thinking that he travelled back into time at least twice, which explains some more about what happens. I need to stop thinking about how it all fits together, getting a headache.

I wish they would have tried to make the moving without anybody traveling through time to the past. I wish they would have just "left clues" from the future and let the past save the ferry and the girl by itself.
