Just saw the bus's full of Florida and Ohio State football teams drive by

So I was driving to work around 8:45 and all of a sudden on the opposite side of the road 4 charter bus's drive by accompanied by around 3 police cars and 5 more policemen on bikes. About 5 minutes later, another 4 charter bus's drive by with 3 more police cars and around 5 more bike cops.

Why do they need a police escort? Do they really think someones going to kill all of them?

Also the cops were blocking off some of the on ramps to get on the freeway. They were really slowing down traffic and I would be pissed if I was stuck behind 4 charter bus's getting a police escort for no real reason.

And why did they decide to do this during the morning rush hour in the first place?

at a purdue game vs ohio state a couple years ago I saw a girl get hit in the back of the head with an empty jack daniels bottle from the ohio state student crowd which then ignited a full out brawl for no reason at all that they had to stop the game for.

very classy indeed.

My favorite incident is an old one - from 1896. Auburn student greased the train tracks with pig grease causing the train bringing GA Tech players to the game to shoot way past its target stop. Ga Tech players ended up having to hike 5 miles to get back to Auburn.

Seems normal to me.

Nobody, not the Universities, the Bowl Committees, the City officials, the TV networks, the advertisers etc want anything "bad" to happen before the game.

I find it a very understandable precaution.

The LSU fans rocking the bus was still occasionally happening. We had an "altercation" one time when I was riding in the convoy (I worked with War Eagle VI and we travelled with the cheerleaders).

Haha, yeah the GT thing gets brought up everytime we play them and there's a Wreck Tech parade the evening before the game.

There's a big difference between Midwest football and Southern football. My little brother graduated from Ohio State and he tailgated with us when he was at Ft. Benning. He was shocked at how much different and serious folks down here take college football.

There's a lot of tards supporting a lot of different schools. You somehow think tOSU has more than its share? Lemme guess... you from that state up north?

The one that takes the cake IMO was the guy that shot his dad in Alabama over an arguement about the Tide. When we're breakin out the ammo to settle football arguments it's time to go home and chill.

I've worked for OSU in the past, my mom works for OSU, and my sister works for OSU. I still bleed scarlet and gray, even though I have not attended classes there.
