The little lady and I have been looking for a house for over 6 months. There are 100,000+ homes on the market in the Atlanta area right now, so the search was difficult. We started out with the intention of buying land and building, but it became very obvious that we weren't going to find what we wanted.

Anyway, we found a house that's perfect for us, and we signed the contracts today. Should close in about 2 weeks. We're both very excited, so I thought I'd express myself on ATOT.

Not a lot of pictures, sorry:

From the main foyer

There are built-in cabinets next to the fireplace now, but that was just recently added as part of the contract.

Formal dining

View of kitchen area from the living area

Bad picture of master bathroom from the master bedroom. It has the usual things: Dual vanity, walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, etc.

That's it. Just wanted to share.

You have to take picturs of the outside of the house so we can drool at how big it is.

yeah you need an outside pic

that looks like a pretty big house. I like the wood floors and open space. My kind of house.

I have a few, but it's placed rather prominently on a lot, so it might actually be recognizable to ATOTers in the area. I'm paranoid

That said, it's not that big. It's just a really open floor plan. Georgia doesn't quote square footage (or so they say), but it's probably ~3500sf or so. Not small, but not too big for a small family.

3500 sf is "not that big"? Alright then .

Any, congrats. Looks really nice. I hope you turn that formal dining room into something useful .

I don't want to sound like a snob or anything, so I'm just really not sure. To get the nicer interiors we kept having to look to the bigger houses, so we were excited to find this one that was smaller but had the same interior quality.

Absolutely. We both like to cook, and she has a ton of friends that like to gather for dinners. We have a large wooden formal dining table that will seat at least 10 that we'll be putting in there.

Yeah, there definitely seems to be some momentum in that direction It's amazing how time flies and perspectives change.

No doubt. My wife and I are closing on our first house in VA in a few weeks and will be expecting our first child almost immediately thereafter.

Paranoid of what? The only ATOT'ers that would actually show up would be those your friends with. Heck even if everyone hated you (and that certainly doesn't seem to be the case) remember everyones only tough on the internet

Congratulations, looks very nice.

I decided to rent for another year and keep investing the difference, since prices are crazy here in the Seattle area -- $400K+ for a condo and $600K+ for a small house, unless you buy in the middle of nowhere.

Sweet crib. Congrats.

Didn't you say (in other threads) you're mid-20s? You're doing quite well for your age
