I know, but the 754 is different from the 939, which boasts a dual channel memory controller.
Cheap ram will not run quality games.

Since you want to argue , here:

Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester @ 2600mhz $180

MSI K8N Neo2 Plat $140

Zalman 7000A CU HS/F $40

Halflife 2 , Farcry , sold for $40 = $320 for mobo/CPU and HS/F

Coolermaster Praetorian Case $100

Sparkle FSP550-60PLG $70

eVGA 6800 Ultra $480

1024mb Corsair Value Select PC3200 ram $150

120gb Seagate SATA HDD $55 AR

Lite-On DVD-RW 4x $0 AR (actually I made $25 but I wont count it)

3.5" Floppy $10

Lets see here: my system > your system in several ways (not all)
and cost a total of $1185 ..add a gross estimate of $100 shipping for $1285 ..I spent way less than you did.

And I am sure..no actually postive that Nick1985 beat me cost wise and his sytem is quite the performer.

Right, you have all the answers but no money.

rich uncle pennybags over here...

Well it's easy to sit back & judge someone's decision, but he did pretty well really. I mean yeah you could have saved a couple hundred bucks buying it from 15 different sites, but then he would have to put it together, install the software, etc etc etc and would have little to no tech support other than well you need to call the CPU mfg....who then tells you to call the mobo mfg...who tells you to call the cpu mfg.

It's a very nice system and you will enjoy it. Monarch will take good care of you as well...if not tell me and I will drive over there & put them in line...lol

Wrong.

Right.

Value RAM (from a respectable company such as corsir, mushkin, Kingston, etc.) will be less thn 1% of a speed difference than low-latency stuff in gaming. I like the mobo, CPU (though I would have gotten the DFI and a 3000+/3200+ and OCed to much passed the level of a 3500+ for $125 less). The video card is a good choice, as is most of the other stuff...

Good build all-around. I'm sure you could have pinched a few pennies here and there, but still a kick ass system!

What is with all these people we are getting here lately? At least most don't get past 30 posts and then leave.

You know, in Half-Life 2's manual it states: "You need quality ram, don't sell this game short" and then tells you to buy this.

They must be right!

poor choice on hard drive (that drive is no matchup for that system) and optical drive (no dvd burner? they're only about 10 bucks more...)

Seems rather expensive for what it is.

You try to save a person a few hundred dollars, and he gets pissed off. How lame.

Why an SLI board? Especially that board... That board was rushed to the market, and I have heard of problems with them. SLI is excessive and unneccesary, but congrats on your new rig.
