Just started fiddling around with my new Asus board

A64 3200+ Winchester
Asus A8N-E
2x1gb Geil PC3200 DDR dual channel

After a few mins I've managed to safely OC from 2.0 to 2.2ghz with no voltage changes, temp changes, or stability problems. I plan on seeing just how fast I can get this thing a bit later.

Anywho, there are a bunch of things I'm wondering about regarding this motherboard. There are options in the BIOS like "AI N.O.S." and "AI Overclock"... both have choices for like 3%, 5%, 10%, etc... anyone know what these do? I've tried them and haven't noticed anything change.

Also, what the hell is AI Booster? I've installed it, but when I run the program I get this message: "AI Booster feature has been disabled, please enable it in BIOS blah blah". There's no choice for it in BIOS. I have Cool n Quiet disabled in BIOS FYI.

Finally, when I try to update my BIOS using the Asus tool, it connects to the server fine, but then I get a "Cannot find file on remote server!" error, and I can't get the new BIOS.

You might havebetter luck asking in the Motherboards forum. There is an entire thread on the A8N-E with a rather odd name to boot. I'm too lazy to go find it but it's near the top of the list.

The AI NOS is just the standard auto-overclock that almost all mobos have now. And the AI booster only works with AUTO set I beleive. Not that I trust a windows based overclocking method. My 310x8.5 Venice on the same board is good enough.
As for the BIOS, just download the bios files from ASUS's incredibly slow website and update them from DOS. It's a lot safer, with less of a chance of a corrupt flash. Or you can use teh windows based flasher if you have no 3.5" drive.
