Set system memory multiplier to 2.00b(1:1).
up fsb to 400 and maybe bump vcore a notch or two

RTFM.

Seriously, all CPUs are different. Some E8400 owners claim to go 3.6 on stock voltage, others need to bump up vcore and other things. Just try it out yourself and see what works.

This is what works best for me

9.5x
417 x 9.5
3.96Ghz
1.284V->1.3v

Im not saying try that at first
start with updating your BIOS
then bump up your FSB as far as possible staying below 70ºc and make sure its stable
take baby steps

My current settings have run F@H for about 20ish days with both cores at 100%

Good luck

9.5 multi won't work on E8400. Your sig is right 3753mhz not 3.96ghz. It will let you set it to 9.5 x 417 = 3.96ghz, but it will boot at 9 x 417 = 3.75ghz.
You can use 8.5, 7.5, 6.5 multipliers.

read the guide. you'll be glad you did. your wallet will be VERY glad you did. however, you'll get addicted to overclocking. before you know it, your mom's email surfer will be overclocked. Your wife's file server will be overclocked. you might even use rmclock or clockgen to overclock the dell that you use at work. maybe. I would never do this, of course...

So you want to be able to tweak hardware without reading anything about it? Sad. I wouldnt help you for a second with that approach.....

I like the idea of using SetFSB for changing my bus speed until I get close. Basically, boot up into windows at 400. Just about every chip will do this now.

Leave the vcore stock but change all your voltages from auto to the default setting. Open up Prime95 or Orthos and configure and let run. Every 15 minutes bump the fsb up 20MHz until you get to a point where you fail within the 15 minutes. You are real close to the cpu limit for stock voltage. Once this is achieved, restart windows and make some initial changes in the bios. Update the bios every 100MHz and repeat.

Verify voltage with CPU ID and use real temp to monitor your thermals. Just keep doing this with the memory set at 1:1 or lower and you will find out your cpu's upper limit on stock vcore quickly.

PS--and read the post regarding how to OC a chip. You need to take some responsability for your hobby.

You DO need to read the guide and anything else on overclocking that you can find. As already stated, every CPU, board and ram are different and what works for one may not work for you. Also, are using the stock cooler?

there is no lazy easy approach to tweaking. Put in the time and do it right or you will not get good results.
