Currently working on a Gateway 300SE, had a 20gb HD, 128mb of PC133, onboard video on a 1.3ghz Celeron with Windows XP Home. Put 512mb of RAM in there (the max allowable), an 80gb hard drive, a PCI video card (FX5200) to get away from onboard, and I replaced a 200W power supply with a 350W. Everything seems to be working just peachy but at first I couldn't get video. Pulled the motherboard battery for a few, then I ended up having to pull the video card because pulling the battery didn't seem to do anything. Finally got video after pulling the vid card and reconnecting onboard, put the video card back in there & got video on that as well. But because I pulled the motherboard battery, I now have to reset the date & time. Only thing is, pressing -/+ (as instructed) does absolutely nothing. I can make other changes in the bios, but pressing -/+ to change the date & time does nothing.
Tried 2 keyboards already, I have no ability to make that change with the date & time using either keyboard.
I get no prompt to enter a password anywhere in the bios, and seem to be able to make changes wherever I go (in the fields that can be changed anyway), just not in the date & time fields.
Regardless of what keys I press nothing changes those 2 fields.
Any ideas? -kd5-
