Just watched Troy! Holy smokes!

Just came back from a free screening of Troy...

Holy cow the movie is awesome!

To let you know, there are no gods or magical stuff in the movie...however, Achilles is just $$$

The fight scenes are just amazing...Troy doesn't have crazy all out battle scenes like Braveheart or Return of the King, but it has more Champion vs Champion...one on one fights....

Anyways, you can't help but respect both Achilles and Hector...
Seeing Achilles fight is like....shit you have to see it to believe it!!!

i saw it already at a free screening at my school. I dont think it was that good at all. Although i am not a master of greek mythology, there was alot of incidents throughout the movie that were not true to Homer's illiad. I thought with the cast they had, it shoudl have been a whole lot better

I think they did a GREAT job of fitting over 10 years of Trojan War into 3 hours.
Sometimes, you have to deviate from the original to make it more believable.

Troy looks great. not to mention harry potter, spiderman 2, shrek 2 etc. im sure there are some im missing. But man this is going to be a good year.

I would have liked sean bean to play achilles. Achilles after all is supposed to be powerful, big and like a greek god. Somehow I cant see Brad Pitt in that role.

brad pitt kicks ass as an actor, and he got lucky with that nice slab of meat hes hauling around named jen.

I definitely want to see this movie. The fight scenes look awesome and I can't believe Brad Pitt is now 40 -- he looks amazing in the scenes I've seen. He is now my inspiration for working out.

This summer is shaping up to be a great one for movies.

I actually think Brad is perfectly cast for it. No way Bean can play that role. No where in the book where it describe him being big, but it does say he is the most powerful warrior and the most hansom.

I liked the movie despite a lot of deviations from Homer's book. This is a movie afterall.

-There is only one Ajax instead of two (exactly what I expected).
-Diomedes is completely missing for the Greeks (come on, at least mention him).
-Sarpedon is completely missing for the Trojans.
-Cassandra is completely missing for the Trojans (she should have been important enough to be included).
-Aeneas is briefly mentioned at the end, is much younger than should be.
-Patroclus is much younger than should be. He is cousin to Achilles instead of just friend.
-Briseis, the slavegirl of Achilles, is given a much larger role than the book and add a romantic element to the story. She seems to take some of Cassandra's role too.
-Prominent characters die earlier or later than should be (not gonna give names for this one, but it is my biggest gripe).

anyway, im going to see it this week, saw a fight scene clip on conan a few days ago, looks like it should be good
