Even if he does Thomas could say no. Roberts would have no authority to force Thomas to resign. If Roberts had any shred of decency and love of country he would ask Thomas to resign.

There is very, very little difference between freedom caucus type and traditional repug. One isn't afraid to say the quiet part out loud. That's it.Because Roberts isn't the freedom caucus type, more a traditional repug. ...
Can't subpoena Roberts because of Feinstein

Roberts could publicly shame him, and probably should if he refuses to resign, but even calling for his impeachment would not really do that much. There is just no way that a Republican House is going to impeach Thomas. I doubt they would impeach him if he publicly proclaimed that he sells his vote to the highest bidder. They would instead praise his entrepreneurial spirit and mumble something about Citizens United.I never implied he did, though when your supervisor wants you gone, there are things that can be done short of official termination to achieve that outcome. What would Thomas say if Roberts informed him 'You didn't even try to avoid the appearance of impropriety. You can resign, or I can be the first chief justice to call for the impeachment of another justice. Insist on defiling this court and you will be assigned no opinions to write, your legacy will be shame and silence. Choose.'

Oh please. Thomas primary job was to carry Scalia's briefcase. He bashed Roberts and stare decisis, said others uphold it when 'they didn't want to think.' Quite the comment coming from court's smallest mind, probably why it stuck with me. Implied he didn't trust Roberts with that 'we trusted each other prior to 2005' comment.
C'mon Mr. Institutionalist, have a little dignity FFS. You really want to ride or die with the insurrectionists and this corrupt AF sociopath who won't recuse in order to protect the traitor he married?
Oh please. Thomas primary job was to carry Scalia's briefcase.
I was making a joke agreeing with your assessment of ThomasPlease what? I just called the man "the court's smallest mind."
You get that I'm not exactly a fan, right?
saying impeach him is all fine and dandy but with McCarthy as speaker it will never happen.
They should start doing a hit campaign against him with ads the the pudding fingers ad. Disgust people that he is taking our rights while jet setting for free all over.I'm starting to think the Dems need to make this an issue, really run with it. Make the GQP wear this asshat proudly while investigations and a formal impeachment push all make it clear that SCOTUS repair cannot wait any longer. The Dems can get rid of the filibuster and save the SCOTUS if voters give them strong enough majorities, no more hostage taking from the likes of Sinema or Manchin.
Where are you getting this. Was the hearing on CSPAN?Oh please. Thomas primary job was to carry Scalia's briefcase.

This SHOULD be a simple answer but SCOTUS would declare itself immune from any ethics rules. The answer to this is simple. All government employees (including the HoR, Senate, Judiciary including SCOTUS, Executive branch) are subject to the SAME ethics rules. If it's a good enough rule for some low level bureaucrat to be required to follow it's good enough for everyone else.
Who would have ever expected the people appointed for life to such a powerful and unaccountable body could become cartoonishly corrupt?
