sygyzy,

I emailed them with my order # to make sure it went thru. I advise you do the same if you didn't receive any email confirmation after a day.

Whew, I emailed them again and they gave me the tracking number. I love UPS Blue! I should be getting it tomorrow!

Lucky you, well I just got my tracking number now. So looks like early next week. Why do all the places I order from are on the west coast. Now the question is, should I keep that Canon S10 or return it?

You can probably sell that S10 here on anandtech forum (For Sale/Trade) or on [/b]eBay[/b] for a small profit to offset the cost of this purchase.

Hmm.. How do you get confirmation from ups directly? Usually the vendor tells you what the tracking number is, right?

I'd keep the Canon S10 if I were you. The JVC has better statistics, but according to reviews I've seen the S10 has much better useability. I also just got an S10 and ordered this JVC deal. Definitely keeping the S10. It's one of the best cameras out there.

I still am so confused as to how you guys got the tracking from UPS. When I spoke to CSR, they said that UPS would email directly. That is not the amazing part. What boggles me is that I had to ask CSR for my tracking number, which they gladly gave me. In addition to that, when I tried logging into my account on their site, it said it didn't recognize my email address. I am looking at the print out of my order and my address is in bold and colored red so they must have it in their systems. Apparently I must have gotten lost!

I got my confirmation email as well! It should be here on Friday.
Email was sent from UPS as others have said. Now, should I keep this one or Fuji MX2900 I got the other day from Buy.com (DOTD)? Choices, choices...

sygyzy,

I think it uses your username and not your email addy anymore. Try it with the username you created while checking out. However, they don't have order status page. All you can do once you login is to change your profile. Hope that helps.

sirsolo - Even if I were able to login with the username, it doesn't explain why they never gave my email to UPS so I can receive tracking information. Just a little petty thing I am peeved about I guess. How do the stats match up between that Buy.com camera and this one? By the Buy.com camera I mean that one that was recently posted. The Fuji I think.

remember that the reviewers assume that the MSRP for the JVC camera is $1100! and thats the reason why some of them are being overcritical...i'll wait and see how it performs in my hands and than i'll make a decision whether to sell it or not.

got my UPS # and like the CSR told me, I should get it on Thursday BTW, if anyone cares I placed my order around 6am on Saturday - so I guess it pays off to wake up early. Well, actually that particular day my neighbour's car alarm went off at 5:30, so thats what got me out of bed, anyway I'm happy. Now I guess I need to find a 32-64Meg Smartmedia card and I'll be set.

I order mine at 5am EST but woke up earlier and couldn't sleep because I threw up, but that's a different story. The user reviews are mixed but average and the picture quality on it is pretty good. But for $300, it's just another "toy".

I ordered at around 6am PST on 10/21. I, too, got some JAVAscript error at the final ordering page (after I submitted my order) and didn't get a confirmation via e-mail. I called Cameraworld the very same day and the rep told me that something was wrong with the e-mail confirmation server, and I should just wait for the invoice along with the package. Although the rep told me that the camera was out of stock, and it'll take about 4 weeks for delivery, I got mine yesterday!!!

However, after I opened the package I saw an invoice of $609.84 for this camera ($599.99 + 9.85 S/H). What is this?!!! On the very same invoice it showed that I've been charged twice onto my CC, once for $313.84 (which was the original $303.99 + $9.85 S/H), and then another one for $296.00. I just phoned Cameraworld and they said that this deal was an error, and unless I have any proof that I purchased the camera for $303.99, they can't honor it. The customer rep whom I talked to did not express patience and transferred me directly to Jeff, the manager. He wasn't available to answer the call so I left a message. Now I'm just waiting for his return call, and I may have to return this camera (minus the S/H fee).

One bad experience for me shopping at Cameraworld >=(

Hmmm...I don't like the sound of that. So far I only see a charge of $313.84 on my CC# bill, so I may have lucked out. If they charge me again I can easily dispute it cause I did not authorize it. Error or not they can't charge you without telling you. You should take it up with your CC# and not deal with them if they are this way, same goes for all vendors.

I just phoned with Jeff, the manager of Camerworld. I explained to him the situation and he's going to credit back the extra $296.00 that I was billed. It looks like I barely made it when I purchased the product online. Supposedly on 10/21 they raised the price back at around 7:15am, but I managed to add the item in the cart before the price was increased to $599.99. But at the time I checked out, they already increased the price, therefore I was being charged first for the $313.84 and then again for $296.00. Jeff was very understanding and honored my purchase. Camerworld has gained another happy customer =)

I got mine yesterday, with the invoice showing a $317.84 charge ( I went with 2nd day air shipping ). Nothing wrong here ... btw, this camera is a steal for that amount ... i took it to work and people were literaly drooling over the picture quality. The only thing i don't like are the controls, but I'm getting slowly used to them. Needless to say i'm a happy camper

Can someone tell me how they ship these? Are they packed decently? The reason I ask is, is that I need mine for this weekend, but it hasn't come yet, so I figure I will go purchase one at a local retailer and then when mine comes, return the new one from cameraworld to the retailer for the refund... obviously, though, I can't do this if Cameraworld ships it badly or slaps a nasty sticker on the retail box or whatever... anybody know? Thanks. Edit: Speaking of which, anybody know any local retailers that even CARRY these? I can't find any.

I called my credit card company and they have charged me $313.84. No second charge was made. However I have not received the camera.
(hm... how long does UPS ground takes to ship from west coast to east coast?)
