Update: Shipping for me was $13 for overnight, $9 for ground and $11 for 2-day. Tax (in NV) was around $21 or so.

I'd buy this if my current camera wern't a JVC, cus it no longer reads tapes (sez head error) and I've maybe recorded 10 hours on it. I've tried cleaning tapes and its always been stored in a dust-free case.

I don't get it, cus I've had good luck with JVC stuff til now.

epinions.com has a lot of negative reviews for virtually any sub-$500 JVC camera.

The reviews are pretty bad for this unit though - low light problems as well as being very prone for failure.

I'll prob do some more research in the morn as I wasn't away that these matchbook camcorders had gone down in price this much - I think I read that the comparable Canon Elura was very well received.

mines on backorder too...I'm thinking about cancelling.....10x optical is as low as it gets for these mini dv's......

I'm not sure how good this camera is..... there's a few other choices for around $300....

anybody have any more information\opinions about this camera....?
