Just got back from visiting JW at the Hospital. He got 33 E-mails delivered to him by the Hospital staff yesterday and was able to read through about half of them before they put him under for the surgery. I brought him a print out of this thread. He thanks everyone and it was emotional, I have to admit to having tears too. Recovery is rough, he is very wiped out. I hope he gets into a room very soon so he can get some sleep and rest, he didn't get any last night.

Yep, when they push your insides around to get at the arteries they need to work on, it takes time for the digestive system to get itself sorted out again, as my father found out recently. But it was definitely worth it. Get well soon JWM!

It is emotional and awesome to realize that Team Anandtech is more than just stats and competition, that it is comprised of teammates, an extended "family" of sorts, all over the world who really care!

The true extent of the extended family sure was realized when I came under attack by the State and the outpouring of so much beyond incredible, that is how JW and I met and have become offline friends as well as here online.

It was Double Bypass surgery. I will post a room number as soon as I find out he has gotten a room. On the E-mail messages via the Hospital website, I believe the Hospital staff even delivered a couple to him in the ICU, one was from Badthad.

You have a nice hospital there too! University Hospitals up here doesn't do anything like that e-mail stuff. They've fired most of the low level patient care nurses, so it's hard to even get washed or fed, etc.
