It has only 100, 133, 166, 200.

I can only achieve these results in clockgen and I can't get the ghost mode to work, it always freezes on startup. I think I have to have the ghost mode up the FSB in increments. Is this a good idea?

Well my Neo4-F bit the dust over the weekend, only 8 months in. It started up & lost all CMOS settings. Multiple CMOS resets and changing the battery both didn't help, CMOS would never save settings again. It would still boot XP and was just a little shakey on default settings for 2 days, then finally no post. RMA is on its way from City of Industry, CA (ground shipment to Long Island.. :| )

Praying that the new board will be just as OC-friendly as my last one. I don't think OC'ing the board is what caused the CMOS to flake-out, most likely CMOS was on a timed expiration , and best that it happened now while still under warranty..

What's ghost mode??
Does the 133 setting work from the bios then?
Bummer about the other settings ,guess I'll probably use 1.6 then

Have my new RMA up and running and it's flies just as nicely as my last one (the FSB fan is a lot quieter too).

I loaded the latest BIOS off of live update, 1.B I think. It doesn't have the 125 or 150 memclock options, only the standard ones (100/133/166/200). Does anyone know what the highest BIOS revision was that kept the 125/150 memclock options? thx

1B also doesn't work with 133RAM option from about 240MHz upwards

1.6 I believe (info is somewhere in this thread )

Is anyone else having problems with their board randomly overclocking the processor. I have OC disabled for sure and when I run a game w/ core center on my 2nd monitor the clock speed raises and the multiplyer chages sometimes and my system locks up for a few seconds and goes back to normal. I'm using BIOS 1.B.

I doubt its overclocking itself ,more likely what you are seeing is the Cool aNd Quiet option in action ,you presumably have that enabled.
When the load on the CPU drops CnQ will lower the clockspeed accordingly ,I believe it varies the vcore too under some circumstances.
The CPU clock speed is altered by the multiplier (I don't think FSB is varied).

It is possible the default 200FSB is just a tiny bit over '200MHz' this is fairly common amongst mbrds.

What CPU have you got & what is the highest clock speed you've seen?

Are you sure about that? I'm running 1B right now with the ram on 133 and my HTT is at 324, not a problem in sight.

I'm going to give 345x8 a try tonight, maybe this board has a higher ceiling. Though I was out of rubbing alcohol and didn't clean/reapply paste on the CPU when I did the switch, I'm skeptical how much that matters tho.. no change in temps thus far.

Quiet and cool is disabled. I have a 3700+ that runs stock at 2200 mhz, it has jumped as far as 2400 because the multiplyer changed to 12 for some on reason It's quite wierd.

Hmm ,that's odd ,btw its impossible for the multiplier to go over default * as Athlon 64s have the multipliers limited to only being able to lower them ,the higher ones are locked.

I've just checked out your CPU info here & your std multi isn't x11! ,lol ,it is x12.
So it isn't overclocking it at all (as I thought) but Cool N Quiet is in action despite it being dis-abled (are you sure about that?) ,if it is then there were some bios revisions which had this fault ,where Cool N Quiet ran even though it was supposedly disabled

*though I have heard extremly rare occasions of Opterons where they weren't locked at all.I don't know if the same applies to Ath64s.
You could test this manually in the bios ,just drop the FSB if you can to keep CPU speed near def.

Yep quite sure on the mbrd I used ,maybe yours doesn't suffer from the problem? ,many people did ,including people in this thread.
Btw problem only occured on bootup ,would randomly fail to boot.

Thanks for the help but my cpu is a socket 939, whereas the 754 has the multiplier at 12x. I messed with some stuff and I think it has stopped for now. I think I need to run some cpu tasking tests though, I know of Prime 95, anyone else know of any cpu running programs ?

Anyone know why I can't change the timings 1T/2T in my bios of 1.B ... THe option is listed in the BIOS in the manual but it doesn'y apprear in my bios settings.

JungleJunk06 - it's there. Go to the Advanced Chipset Features. Set User Config Mode to manual, it'll then let you change 2T (default) to the faster 1T setting.

This board never ceases to amaze me, I now have my new RMA'd board running at 345 x 8 on the 133 memclock, 100% stable. That's pushing my Kingston VS ram up to 230mhz! (previously I couldn't get it a hair above 220 with my timings). It's rated 3-3-3-8 at 200mhz, not a bad OC for value ram!

Yeah I know what you are tlaking about.. but it's not there. The mobo manual has a pictiure but it isn't an option for me for some odd reason. I've emailed MSI tech support butt they are useless and can barely speak english. Maybe I can flash to a previos BIOS to fix it. I'm using 1.B right now and I've tried the reset switch and I've flashed the BIOS to 1.B again but still cant control it.

Doh! ,my bad looked at the wrong table

Well as I said ,manually test which multipliers work in the bios ,if you do really have one that is unlocked it could be worth a small fortune on ebay.

Prime95 is plenty good enough to fully load the CPU.

And yea try an earlier bios

Perhaps some of you guys can help me out.

I've been trying to OC my neo4-f, but it's giving me REALLY crappy results. The furthest I can get primed is about 2.45 ghz. After seeing some of the results you guys had, I'm pretty damn jealous that I can't push mine as far.

I've got a 3200+ (s939) @ 10x245 (voltage is 1.53 or something). My memory sucks, but I'm only looking at CPU anyways. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve my clocks?

Edit: up to 250x10 by increasing the voltage to 1.55. stuck again...could it be a cooling issue?

What's the stepping on that?

Also I noticed that with the 1.B BIOS, I can now post with 350+ FSB . . . . . . so no more need of clockgen in windows . . .
