Everyone. In nominal mode (without turbo dock) A6-1450 has a 8W TDP with 1Ghz base clock and 1,4 Ghz turbo clock. Turbo dock is 15W and 1,4 Ghz probably on all 4 cores.

I don't think everyone is stupid. The situation is very simple. The Temash can't work above 8 W. There is a limit in the power management. For 15 watt TDP you need a Kabini.

The world is changing. Temash competes in a market segment which does not need Windows and x86.

Consumers want to browse the web, play (vintage 1999) games without hassle, watching videos, doing skype, listen to music, reading books, learning new language etc.

All this is possible on iOS, RT and Android, too. Consumers want the best product. They don't care anymore about the x86 world.

you have missed out productivity and mainstream apps. Temash will run MS Office and all x86 apps with the same single thread performance of a Brazos notebook while providing much faster multithread performance.

Its 15 watts but also the ivy bridge cpu is faster.

Is it me or something doesn't add up ??

A4-1250 is a Dual core at 1GHz with iGPU at 300MHz and it comes at 9W TDP when a Quad core A6-1450 comes at 8W TDP ?? What the hell ??

Edit: Also, from Dual core 1GHz + iGPU at 225MHz (A4-1200) to Dual core 1GHz + iGPU at 300MHz (A4-1250) and we triple the TDP to 9W ??? no wayyyyyyyyyyyy

Also, 40nm C-70 dual core 1GHz + iGPU(80 cores) is also at 9W TDP, granted they also need a NorthBridge but that also doesn't add up. They kept the same core count and frequency, doubled the Radeon Cores and with a full node shrink they still need 9W TDP ???

I dont know but it doesnt seem ok with me.

Anand's explanation is that this is probably a die-harvested part that can't be put into more stringent tdp limits

It can work above its nominal mode. There were lots of news about Turbo Dock in the last weeks and months.

And the nominal mode is without turbo, which is 5.9 watt. And with turbo the TDP will be 8 watt. Just ask my wife. She's an engineer at Acer.

They are about equal on the low load benchmark, but Kabini is better on the high load. That's due to the TDP differences. The Dell XPS 12 uses a 17W Ivy Bridge with QS77 chipset. The latter has a TDP of 3.6W, which won't be fully utilized in all scenarios, so let's assume 3W.

That's 15W vs 20W. Of course you can shave off about a watt using the UM77 chipset but not all manufacturers do that.

Also if people are interested, AMD has Cinebench numbers on the Richland parts. The A10-5750M gets 2.39 points and the 19W A8-5545M gets 1.55.

No. 8W nominal, 15W docked. When docked TDP is basically twice as big.

Interesting that the single-threaded CPU tests show a small but tangible improvement in docked vs un-docked. I'm guessing when it's not docked it's occasionally pulled out of 1.4GHz while more than one thread is active, occasionally true even when running generally ST stuff (and could be moreso with Sunspider than Cinebench since the former has browser threads going). Or maybe it takes longer to ramp up to full speed.

Yes in nominal mode there is a turbo, it goes up to 1,4 Ghz in singlethread or lighter CPU workloads.
