I don't see a problem with documenting the legal ability to vote. You live where you say you live and are legally in the US. No problem with that at all.
Fine and dandy except there are literally millions of Americans who don’t have the documents these laws demand. In Arizona the problem is especially acute for older Native Americans. The people writing these laws know this and do it deliberately to prevent people they don’t think will support them from voting.

People who aren’t citizens don’t register to vote because the cost is way too high if they are caught.

This just popped up on my X feed and made me laugh

BREAKING: Trump wins head to head poll against Harris conducted by Elon Musk (73%-27%) with over 5.8 million votes.

No bias there I'm sure. For being a genius Elon sure does some dumb shit.

Ok after the convention speech.. my thoughts..

She's smart that she's making this election basically a referendum about Trump and his policies, not about her being the first woman president.

And there's enough negativity about Trump that as long as she doesn't piss people off majorly and comes across as the rational alternative.. she might just pull it off.

In the very least on her weaknesses.. she covered her 6 with the she'll sign the bipartisan border bill that Trump torpedoed.

reality is just bizarre:
https://ground.news/article/jd-vance-ridiculed-as-joke-aimed-at-tim-walz-backfires-on-trump
Vance was asked Tuesday what he was doing to prepare for the vice presidential debates. "I have a friend who embellishes and lies a lot, I’m having him stand in for Tim Walz," Vance quipped.

She went straight for the carotid arteries of Trump. She spoke on character and polices. Both of which he has none. It was an exceptional speech. Well done. It's fucking moving.

Yea, that's not a poll on Harris Trump ... That is a poll on Twitter/X.

Elon really is... socially retarded. Sorry but yes. I said it.

So I guess the October surprise is coming early with RFK allegedly to endorse Trump soon.

Those few % points will probably be enough to push Trump over the finish line.

It only helps Trump if all those people who were going to vote for RFK actually go out and vote for Trump. But I think you know that's not going to be the case. RFK was not going to be on the ballot in many states at all. He is currently on the ballot in 25 of the 50 states. Kennedy being in the race was always going to hurt Trump because of splitting the anti-science conspiracy theory nutjob vote.

RFK, Jr. is getting the support of the crazies that don’t like Trump. If they were willing to vote for Trump, they’d already be in that camp. Many of his supporters will be disappointed and disillusioned by RFK Jr. endorsing Trump and some will stay home, some will find another obscure third party to vote for, and some may vote for Harris.

I think RFK exiting does help Trump some, but not much. He's going to get a bigger share of that ~5% than Harris, which is going to be a net gain.

I expect most of the RFK voters to just not vote though.

I agree. It will be a net gain for Trump, but I just don't think a significant gain to really matter much. RFK is not making an impact in Michigan & Wisconsin. Not sure about Pennsylvania yet. I suspect that the staunch environmental people that were going to vote for RFK are furious/disgusted that he will endorse an anti-environment candidate like Trump. RFK lost it somewhere down the line here, or he is just as much a grifter as Trump and was always on his side. RFK seemed quite proud of his record as an environmental lawyer. Something strange may have happened to him (the worm?). It’s odd for someone to accept and defend environmental and climate science and then turn around and endorse Trump, even for a bribe. Unless it was all a grift. It’s impossible to believe that RFK Jr. DOESN'T know that Trump and his Project 2025 buddies plan to remove each and every in-place protection for the environment and completely dismantle the EPA.

There is a certain class of back to nature hippy types that love the environment but hate modern medicine believing that traditional herbal remedies are always better. So I could imagine that RFK turned into (or was always) one of those. But then it makes absolutely no sense for him to support Trump. From watching segments of different interviews is that RFK tailors his anti-vax views to the audience he’s talking to, moderating them for mainstream audiences and going all-out crackpot with others. That speaks to a certain amount of dishonesty/grift.

No comment on this turn of events from the dead bear dumped in Central Park?

I find it very funny that the guy who doesn't want you to get vaccinated against measles has no problem eating roadkill.
