I'm a little concerned about the debate. Walz is speaking pretty candidly but Harri seems to be holding back. I get it, don't be too negative, but this is not a normal election. I hope she is forceful enough at the debate to seriously call Trump out on some of his more outrageous lies.
I've said many times the "debates" are a joke. I feel like--and if I'm wrong based on past ones, fine--that the only thing they can really do to help or hurt is if you are really, really awful at one of them. See: Biden.
Otherwise I doubt it moves the needle much if Harris doesn't fall apart, and I don't see that happening.
I read that Trump was planning on trying to loom over her or some bullshit (like his ancient fat ass is intimidating), so hopefully she is ready for that. I still remember Gore trying that on GWB, getting in his space with a loony grin on his face, and GWB handled it very well--and I REALLY wanted Gore to win, but he looked like an idiot doing that.
One can then point out "what about Trump, his meaningless lying meandering should hurt him right, that's being awful surely?" I got nothing. It
would, if anyone else was doing it. If any other politician from any year had said that crap about electric boats and sharks (just to pick
one of many such blatherings) they'd be done. Ask Howard Dean, one goofy yell was enough to hurt him severely.
