Kamper starts running in VFFs

A little over 15k last week in 3 runs. Did almost 5.5k barefoot on the indoor track Wednesday with only a little blistering despite not having done much barefoot for a while.

A little over 17k this week in 3 runs.

There was a good snow storm yesterday so today there was lots of salt-slush and lots of tramping through the fluffy stuff to go around walkers on the path. It was about -4C and I was in my KSOs and wool injinjis. My toes got quite cold, especially when they were wet, but they seemed to recover a bit on dry sections.

I can't run in these things the whole winter though. Terra plana seems to have messed up the order for my evoIIs, but hopefully they arrive soon.

Only around 17 in the past two weeks in 3 runs. Partly due to some travelling and partly due to slightly sore feet which I think goes back to having gone too fast a couple weeks ago.

I did one run on a treadmill (first in a couple of years) which was surprisingly uncomfortable in VFFs. At the end I realized there was no reason not to go barefoot so I did that for a while and it felt better.

My evos did finally arrive and I have done a couple of runs in them. So far they're not as comfortable as VFFs, but they do the one important thing I need them for: keep my feet warm and dry. I'll write a mini review once I've done some more running in them.

Still going steady since my last post, but not really increasing the mileage all that much. This week was my longest so far, with about 21k in total and the longest run just shy of 7k. My feet have been kind of stiff and sore and I'm realizing how important it is to keep shoes loose fitting, not only around the toe box, but even around the midfoot.

15k this week in my evos. My feet (particularly my right foot) are still getting stiff, but it seems to be more associated with walking than running. Going for an easy jog actually seems to loosen things up. I am switching back to regular shoes for walking for a while to see what that does.

Just 15 again this week, but with the longest run up to nearly 7.5k. It's been warm enough to run a few times in the KSOs again, which feels better than the Evos.

Some stats since I began last summer:

barefoot: 40k
KSOs: 125k
Evos: 72k
trainers: 197k (pretty much all long runs that I can't yet do in minimal shoes)

It's been quite a slow transition, I think.
