Wiki says it's going to be called the "Kung Fu Kid" in Asia.

I'd say this is a movie made targeting American audience, while the Asians are going to just pirate it, so it'll be a wash anyway for Asian revenues.

Well as usual you need to fracking read. The black stuff got started when one the guys stated he didn't know why he didn't like the kid, but it wasn't because he was black. Yeah okay . Karate kid has 4 stinking movies, one with a girl. This theme has been played so many damn times in kung fu movies its sickening. But now because this one features some twist and the hero will be some black kid, now its an outrage. So now you tell me motherfracker, whats the issue? Jackie Chan, good guy? Check. Will Smith, good guy? Check. His son who has been in all of two movies and is 11 years old.

And by the way bobbie you dumb prick, what about Bloodsport and Kickboxer? They featured Jean C, who like a lot, is a white dude who in both those movies whipped some asian booty. You say its not about race, but it looks like to me you don't like it because the kid is black. So as usual bobbie, go back to humping your cousin.

Ha! I just saw the new Karate Kid promo on TV. Jackie Chan is trying to pull a Mr. Miyagi by speaking in broken English. They modified the "menial tasks teach martial arts basics" scene by having Chan tell Smith repeatedly to take his jacket off and put it back on, 'cuz everyone knows that mad kung fu skills come from getting dressed. Anyway, Chan can be repeatedly heard telling Smith "Jacket off!" I lol'ed.

2. Jaden's 11, I don't recall any 11 year old actors who've made me go "WOW!" not even that Halle Joel Osmond kid.
3. Even if this movie sucks, the original was shitty too. Sure I liked it when I was 7, I also like the chicken song which was 3 minutes of chickens clucking to a beat. Today the original movie sucks to me, and I no longer like the chicken song. I bet 7 year olds will love this movie, and oddly enough I'm sure that's who the movies directed towards. Children aren't stupid like you fucks on here, they will watch the movie and not care about Jaden's lack of acting (he's fucking 11) or the fact Jackie Chan does Kung Fu and not Karate. They will enjoy the movie for what it is. And when they're my age they'll look back just like I did about the original and go "holy fuck that movie was shit, I can't believe I ever liked it ugh..."

Yea, I agree, but it doesn't stop people from doing it. I knew a Tae Kwon Do place that had their street sign say karate because people more easily identified that with Martial Arts than TKD when they put up the sign; It's stupid, but I guess it kept people from coming in looking for chinese food : p

Kidding aside, yes this is a movie produced by Wills Smith to introduce his kid to the acting business. Nothing new about that, famous parents bringing their kids into the business.
