A few times a month I go to the post office with several thousand in cash on me. I Always put that shit in my front pockets so that if I got mugged or was dumb I wouldn't lose it all
A few (3+) times a month with several ($3000+) thousands dollars?
You must be one of the premier Chicago bartenders. Why don't you open your own bar with that kind of cash flow and not deal with paying to deposit your money?

Muggers don't check front pockets?

Well it came back on me 20x
When I carry large sums, I put it in my front pocket. It's just easier to keep track of. Even when I don't carry large sums, if I am standing in line or around people I hook my thumb is the pocket my wallet is in to be sure it isn't lifted.Muggers don't check front pockets?
Lol, I am a little bit careful when I do this, but I definitely have no set pattern of when I go to the post office and I even go to a few different ones that are close to my apartment. That way nobody knows that at like 1pm on mondays I'll be walking with a good chunk of change in my pocket. Odds of even employees picking up on it are low.
Either way I gotta walk somewhere with my cash, part of being in my industry.
Also, being built like a brick shithouse probably helps deter would-be muggers. TB if you don't mind me asking, where do you bartend?
I don't mind at all. I work out in naperville at bar Louie. Yeah I don't exactly present myself as an easy target lol
Gotcha. Thought you might have worked in the city.
Strange enough, most bar jobs in the city don't make as much as I do. The real money comes if I can get into fine dining bartending
Based on what you posted you probably aren't going to be making much more than a few several thousand dollar deposits in a month as any bartender.
My biggest question is even with $2500 you should be able to open a free checking account at even a boutique bank and those should be plenty in Chicago (my entire family is practically living there other than my immediate). Most post office lines are a train wreck...a nice bank with a good minimum deposit requirement easy to get in and out of.
Then just go online and do a transfer.
