do you have 2 avp.exe processes running on your system?

mine shows 2 of the same file running. is this normal?

I just checked and have only 1 avp.exe process running.

using Kaperksy internet security version 6.0.2.621 in Vista.

oh, i just realized one is running under my account and one is running under the system account. why does it need to run both?

There are 4 user profiles on this computer.

There's only 1 instance of avp.exe running.

Kaspersky v. 6.0.2.614 on Windows XP Pro SP2.

2 here as well, one under the SYSTEM account and the other under my user account (had to click "Show processes for all users"). Vista 64.

Why? Hell if I know. Better than the 12 that Norton starts.

AOL Active virus Shield running 2 of them on my pc.

2 for my KAV 6,one under System and one under my name.
Make sure you select show all processes to see both in task manager.

I have two instances running (XP2 Home), one under System, one under user. Right now, I'm running on my limited user account, but I can switch to an admin account I created when I need to - like everyday to update Kaspersky.

Probably, one is is running under an HKLM key, and the other is running under an HKCU key.
