I didn't say their rights specifically, I said other peoples rights.

Interfering with an official proceeding and disturbing the peace is or should be a cause for arrest.

I knew what you were talking about and my question still stands. What rights of others are being affected?

They were arrested btw.

He and Gorsuch will be arrested, arraigned and convicted for treason for conspiring with Russia and being part of the Russian administration trying to ruin America.

You have a very twisted view of things. Anyone who is not on your ideological side is a traitor. At traitor to what, your liberal, commie agenda? I guess, I am proudly one of those too! You are a perfect example of a burn it down liberal, fuck everyone else. This is an example of why we don't get along. People like you, with your bat shit antics and rage, are the real dividers of this country. Me? I get along with everyone, no matter their political leanings. Do you know how I do it? I focus on commonality, not differences. I focus on what we share, in common, music, food, family, beer, etc. When we decide that everyone who doesn't toe the line to our political tastes, is the enemy, we are being destructive, and that is not healthy for us. Discourse is normal of a functioning society. It's a two way street, but it seems you want a one way street, where it's "my way, or the highway." Sad! I will pray for you.

NO. Just no. Current Trump Regime Of The United States, TROTUS, has divided and radicalized both sides, its the TROTUS that has so severely failed, not even tried, to heal the country and bring folks together. Continue down this vector and I do foresee civil war for you guys and in that light, is it really so odd what Indus is expressing? She is getting ready for war, everybody is getting ready for war.

Let me help you:

This is a statement. Notice the period.

What I am against is disrupting a proceeding and disturbing the peace.

This is a separate statement.

Their rights end when it effects other peoples rights.

I know many were arrested. Just as it should be. They have a right to protest, they do not have a right to disrupt the proceeding or disturb the peace.

And that could be said of any incident where you decide to machinegun down civilians.

Good job.

Umm...what "committee confidential" conversation is Kamala Harris referring to here?

Did Kavanaugh already discuss the Mueller investigation with someone on Trump's legal team?? Why is he ducking the question??

https://twitter.com/cspan/status/1037514830490607617?s=21

While we sit around and talk about protesters who were arrested, Kamala Harris planted a small landmine for Kavanaugh. In short, "Did you discuss the Muller probe with anyone at Trump's lawyer's law firm?" He seemed a bit concerned as he answered the question. Looks like there is potential that he was discussing the probe with Trump's lawyers and was dodging the question.

Seems a bit shady or obstruction-y?

The twitter on this is fascinating. I'd like to see if this develops into something. Probably more nothing burger though...

EDIT - Clearly the guy is dodgy at best. Watch the video. He was really squirmy. I thought I was watching a TV court room drama. This guy was so uncomfortable and his waffling was bad. "Hmmmm.. Not sure if I know anyone at a really well-known law firm tied to the POTUS...Wow, I don't know if I talked to someone abut that even though its in the fucking news every day and is less than 2 years old. I'm foggy. But lets talk about something that happened 10 years ago. That I remember clearly." Very fit for Trumps judiciary...

I'm watching on and off here: https://www.c-span.org/video/?44970...ng-supreme-court-nominee-brett-kavanaugh&live

This is decidedly partisan in the worst way possible. Chairman Grassley doesn't even admit to his own request for specific documents that has not been met.

While the in-room protesters aren't helping, I get their frustration.

I was on the road working yesterday, but I was listening to the hearings on Sirrius XM.

After listening to him, and his explanation of the rulings that he's made, I'm actually starting to like the guy. A lot of it has to do with the minutia of the law, and his understanding of it. I was exceptionally impressed with his understanding of the Federalist papers and his favorites as well. If I were a senator I could see myself voting for his confirmation.

Of course, the opera isn't over until the fat lady sings, so something may creep out, but he's doing okay so far.

You sound like Trump "TREASON?". Just quit now. Gorsuch conspiring with Russians and being convicted for treason? No. Also no on Trump even if he did because the Constitution defines treason, not you or I, and there is an extremely high burden placed on accusers.

Trump is going to do no Federal time I'd wager. If Trump is removed neither party will criminally prosecute him as things stand. Yes "both sides" will let him slink away.

However

The AG's in NY will likely criminally prosecute him, his children, Kushner, and others providing Cuomo doesn't order otherwise because well, Cuomo. We have fine facilities here in NY which offer the security a former President needs by completely separating him from all the dangerous types and giving him his own private room.

Gorsuch? No, just no. Nothing will happen to him because there's nothing, zero, that shows he's guilty of anything besides being who you don't want on the SCOTUS.

I thought the same thing. Seemed like a terrible liar, unfortunately he seemed like he was lying (dodging) for parts of the hearing (esp. the Kamala Harris question) and the Leahy questions about the theft of his emails.

Crystal Ball?

I have one which worked 99% of the time before the Iraq War, but I hear there are some Magic 8 balls in circulation that say "Thou shalt have no other god but Trump", and son of a gun it appears people believe that, at least when their actions are examined.

BTW, people were removed and may be charged, we don't know, but they weren't allowed to stay. If only protests were illegal in general then this wouldn't have happened.

If I were you I wouldn't pick this fight.

This is the cliffs notes so far:

Senator Grassley: We are here to welco

Senator Harris: Mr. Chair. We are missing documents.

*protesters screaming*

Senator Grassley: No. No. You have them.

Senator Klobochar: No we are missing a lot. And those we did get were just last night and we didn't have time to review them.

Senator Grassley: Well boohoo. Get good at reading. I read them all.

Senator Harris: No you didn't.

Senator Grassley: Did too.

More protesters screaming.

Senator Kennedy: Now ya'll gonna ask this fine young man any questions?

Senator Grassley: Oh yes. *finds just enough strength to lift and tap gavel against desk*. Order!

Senator Hatch: Judge Kavanaugh: If I vote to confirm you, is that OK?

Judge Kavanaugh: Hypothetically...Yes?

Senator Whitehouse: What is your opinion on the 2nd amendment?

Judge Kavanaugh: It was an important decision.

Senator Feinstein: It wasn't a decision. It's part of the constitution.

Senator Corwyn: Judge, you are a family man. When you make PB&J for your kids, do you put the peanut butter on first, or the jelly?

Judge Kavanaugh: That's a very interesting question senator. I'm a team player and I ask my kids what way they prefer it first.

Senator Leahy: DID YOU USE MY STOLEN EMAILS!

Senator Grassley: That stuff was secret and you weren't supposed talk about it.

Senator Harris: This was the shit I was talking about. Can we get those?

Senator Grassley: Maybe. No. Yes. I want a nap.

MORE PROTESTING

Senator Cruz: Let's go back to those PB&J sammiches. Judge, are your a chunky or a smooth peanut butter guy.

Judge Kavanaugh: Well Senator. That is a very difficult choice. I would have to weigh the type of bread and whether or not I was told I should use one vs the other.

Senator Leahy: CHUNKY PEANUT BUTTER MADE ME THE MAN I AM TODAY!

Senator Cruz: We can agree that chunky peanut butter is choice of very bad judgement liberals. Look at my face. It's smooth and rubbery. Just how peanut butter should be.

Senator Sasse: Everyone lets get back on task here. No one cares about how you make PB&J Sandwiches. Or what type of peanut butter you use. We all know that Americans love steak and Omaha Steaks are the best steaks.

Senator Corwyn: The senator from Nebraska is right that steak is the best. But I don't agree with him on what state has the best one.

Senator Klobochar: Judge, do you hate women? Because most of your decisions seem like you hate them having choices.

Judge Kavanaugh: I have a wife and daughters so clearly I can't hate women.

MORE PROTESTING

Senator Blumenthal just sits there red face ready to strangle someone.

Senator Grassley: We should break. It's nappy time.

We have a Russian agent acting as POTUS.

The entire administration is carrying out Russian agenda to weaken America from within, divide us and make us more susceptible to electoral, financial and psychological terror.

Are you really arguing that we should let the Russian agent's planted judges and officials stay in place and let them walk free?

That's beyond insane.

Like the Democrats on committee leaking the documents (questionably) made confidential by the Republicans which throw most of his answers into a lake of doubt?

Then yes, apparently.

And the hearing has descended into anarchy with the Dems tossing senate rules on the bonfire.

Senate rules? What rules? The chairman w/o the joint agreement of the Democrats decided to make certain documents confidential. I'm glad they are leaking them. I think we should know everything about someone who is going to be 1 of 9 of the final arbitrators of the laws of our country. I like their fight.

At the risk of appearing to reach for the hyperbolic, Kavanaugh represents a direct threat to our nation when he says the President is not above the law and at the same time saying he's above accountability and the rule of law by making him immune to investigations outside the extremely polarized Congress.
