Senate Democrats went nuclear Thursday in their fight to release documents about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh that are deemed “committee confidential” and therefore cannot be released publicly.
At the beginning of Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) pledged to release at least one of those documents, saying he was knowingly committing an act of “civil disobedience.”
“I openly invite and accept the consequences of my team releasing that email right now,” Booker said, which he says could include “potential ousting from the Senate.” The senator later said he does not believe his action would constitute a violation of the Senate’s rules, but Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX) read a rule that states Booker could “suffer expulsion from the body.”
Booker, a potential Democratic presidential contender in 2020, swiftly responded: “Bring it on.”
Grassley saying social security numbers, phone numbers and social security numbers...On day three, the fossils on this committee are starting to sound pretty frail and making a lot of speaking errors.
At the risk of appearing to reach for the hyperbolic, Kavanaugh represents a direct threat to our nation when he says the President is not above the law and at the same time saying he's above accountability and the rule of law by making him immune to investigations outside the extremely polarized Congress.
This man for effing President. Folks we have reached DEFCON 1

3 Judges on SCOTUS would overturn it
Breaking the law is not a legal protest. The 1st Amendment doesn't give protesters the right to break the law and protesters are not above the law. What I am against is disrupting a proceeding and disturbing the peace. Their rights end when it effects other peoples rights.
And the "comforting" response by Kavanaugh was that Roe was settled precedent, a deception couched in a fact. Three judges eh? Kavanaugh has set himself to be one of the three and therefore he's caught in his trickery, not that some will care.

That would be an opinion on the opinion of the Judges on the 2003 SCOTUS. At no point in that article was Kavanaugh expressing his own thoughts on Roe. Even if it was, people tend to evolve their positions after 15 years.

I'm glad to see you're such a fervid supporter of American traditions. So what? Civil disobedience is a long standing American tradition. Those who practice it invite arrest.
Typical leftie.Typical rightie.
Speaking is against the law - no problem
Guns are against the law - OMFG UR VIOLATING MAH RIGHTS!!!!!
I doubt that pro-life crusaders' position has evolved in 50 years.
That may be what Huffpo wants to paint him as, but where is the evidence or even an indication of it?

What the hell is Graham rambling on about trying to weave in RvW and walk away from it?

Are you likewise impressed by the passion of pro wrestlers?I was on the road working yesterday, but I was listening to the hearings on Sirrius XM.
After listening to him, and his explanation of the rulings that he's made, I'm actually starting to like the guy. A lot of it has to do with the minutia of the law, and his understanding of it. I was exceptionally impressed with his understanding of the Federalist papers and his favorites as well. If I were a senator I could see myself voting for his confirmation.
Of course, the opera isn't over until the fat lady sings, so something may creep out, but he's doing okay so far.
