Democrats lose this by their absolute Hail Mary throw to keep the Supreme Court from sliding conservative before their near guaranteed win in the midterms. This is an ugly way to destroy someone and the precedent set is essentially, someone says something bad about you no matter how long ago and we ruin you. No assumption of innocence, no trial. You are judged and ruined outside of court.
Republicans lose by nominating a rich private school boy who on face value appears to be the very representative of that preppy boy culture we nearly all despise. It’s not a huge stretch for us to believe the claims....even if we don’t or can’t practically “know” them. Also, they were put in a checkmate situation where if they don’t confirm, the voter base will never forgive them for failing to get as this is maybe the last chance to do something about roe v wade.
