It's a highly conservative institution and some decisions made by Wray/Bowdich make me think they're doing a balancing act of sorts. Donnie's FBI ignored a disciplinary recommendation by firing Strzok. There's some other strange things like how we still don't have a report on the shenanigans in 2016.

How can Congress explicitly give approval for opening an FBI background check, and then completely ignore the other accusers? I mean, they're literally ignoring Avenatti's client because the assclowns don't like how Avenatti owns.

There are some problems with Avenatti's "affidavit". First off, unlike what Kavanaugh and righties here allege, Avenatti's client never said Kavanaugh was a "gang mastermind". She doesn't even allege that Kavanaugh raped her.

She says:
1) She went to parties where Kavanaugh, Judge and other boys were running a train on girls.
Problem: Without the actual victims coming forward, impossible to say whether this was consensual sex or not.

2) She alleges that she was eventually raped at one of these parties, and that Kavanaugh and Judge were "present"?
Problem: what's the actual allegation against Kavanaugh here? She doesn't ever say he raped her. So he failed at Good Samaritan??

Am I missing something here? Avenatti keeps promising more information but that's a shitty way to treat his client. Let her tell her full story on her terms, not piecemeal like some made for TV drama.

Once that is done, they'd present the findings to the WH, do you think Trump would turn over anything bad to the Senate? He'll bury it.

I don't know that they have a choice. The information is submitted to the WH but goes into his background file which they can't withhold from the Senate IIRC. Even if Trump did order something suppressed the odds of that not coming out have to be incredible and such actions would likely lead directly to impeachment if a D house.

I can't seem to find an answer to this question I have.
Can a newly appointed SC judge jump into a case that has already started in court, regardless of how long it's been before the court?

I don't think he can vote on anything he hasn't heard but not many big issues are scheduled to be heard before the court at the moment so it doesn't seem to be much of a factor. Also the court can delay hearing cases at will.

He'd answered it before. Somehow this answer quelled you from asking it again? Amazing.
I did it for your benefit. You’re welcome.

Did not help that the Senate majority would not get the documents that the dems wanted released. In there would have been proof that Brett did indeed have access to pilfered Democrat emails during the Star investigation. Which he as usual, lied about it.
Cory Booker demonstrated a bold resolve to obtain and release needlessly classified committee confidential documents. I recognize these are different, but if there was something worth leaking, I can’t imagine how it wouldn’t have hit the press yet.

Man, they love calling out Avenatti as an enemy. And they shouldn't considering his track record. That's a dumb fight to pick.

I wonder if they'll call out Farrow, too.

Plus he totally demolishes anyone from the right who goes against him. He's what the left needs right now to counterract the lowball tactics of the right

Even if it was consensual, then the people need to ask themselves if they want a SC justice who ran trains on girls in college. You don't have to be a criminal to be completely unsuitable to be a judge.

I think the FBI will determine. Not up to Donnie or Congress.

That the FBI will determine nothing is a foregone conclusion. The GOP just wants to distract us from the Kavanaugh shit show of yesterday. I mean, never mind that. Since the FBI can't find anything, Slammo-jammo.

OK, I'm done with you. You don't want to chat honestly, and few on this board want to as well. It's sad, you can review the quotes, and replies, and clearly show you're unwilling to engage in an honest debate.

ROFLMAO. Thanks for the entertainment.

I was curious about this posted earlier in the thread
on next month's docket is: Gamble v. U.S., No. 17-646. Issue(s): Whether the Supreme Court should overrule the "separate sovereigns" exception to the double jeopardy clause (where you can be charged twice, via State and Federal charges, for the same crimes). The plan was to appoint Kavanaugh early this week so that he would be seated in time for this ruling.

Some good news

https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1045765296181653505

JUST IN: Senate Judiciary Cmte. says it will request Trump admin. to instruct FBI to conduct a supplemental FBI background investigation on Kavanaugh nomination "limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today."
Week isn't enough, they won;t even get started until tomorrow.

On the plus side.....
At LEAST we still have a "hint" of decency in congress in this Trump era.
Even Fox News today has been fairly decent about all of this.
I THINK people and that means "the republicans" re-watched Kavanaugh and were quite shocked at his temperament the second time around.
The second viewing.
People were quite shocked that Kavanaugh was so unhinged.

And maybe Kavanaugh has said it all?
Summed it up himself when he said "my career has been destroyed".
Maybe Kavanaugh knows that not only was Ford telling the truth, but Kavanaugh realized he did, does in fact have a huge drinking problem.
And thus a temper problem.
Maybe despite what Kavanaugh said, Kavanaugh knows the truth will eventually come out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kavanaugh requests his name be withdrawn.
And I wouldn't be surprised if even Donald Trump is having second thoughts.
That Trump has simply had enough with Kavanaugh.
Donald.... there are plenty of other fish in the ocean. Not necessary to cook this smelly fish.

I wouldn't bet on the last paragraph. Mitch has been setting this situation up for years. They are damned and determined to get the politician they want on the bench. Elections are riding on this.

Yes, youre right. We should only have judges who have only one partner at a time, and do it missionary style only. Even cowgirl is grey area.

You are an apologist toad. This isn't a criminal trial. Stick that bullshit up your nose.

It's the concept you RETARD! How do you think the trial was established to be innocent until proven guilty dumb idiot? Its the concept that any person is innocent of any accusation until he is proven guilty. This is regardless whether its in court or not! Even the police, even investigators, even attorneys, even prosecutors have to take this into account.

If some girl came forward and said that Muse the Anandtech forum user raped her when she was just 10 years old, should we automatically believe her? Or should we need evidence, before that to assume you to be innocent.

In 2016 it became official. Minority babies outpaces white babies. In 16 short years they'll be voting...

Please pass the keyboard over to the next troll farm worker...

Fuck you dumb racist piece of trash. Just because some people have darker pigmentation, doesn't mean they are brainless morons all thinking and voting the same dumb racist idiot.

No way, Trump only wants Brett K to stop subpoenas from being served on him and possibly to expand his pardon powers, Roe v Wade is just red meat for the evangelicals, he could care less otherwise.
