If you want to really see how fucked up this country is, go read the articles about Robert Redford, and then the comments related to it. Perfect. This country is lost. Humanity has shown its real face.
Comments about Robert Redford show this country is lost. Thank you for posting.

Unless you actually did, you might think it has nothing to do with this topic, but it has everything to do with this topic. It shows why we are where we are. Hateful, stubborn people who only care about 'me me me' and being right damn the consequences. No interest in working together, no interest in compromise. Single focused mindset of destroying the opposite side. If you disagree with what he's saying (which many do - per the point) you are the problem.

Well as I said Mconnell would ram Justice Kavanaugh*++ through and he did.

I’m now interested in what Roberts wants his courts legacy to be.

Well, I was right about 50 votes guess - but not with Pence breaking a tie. Not sure why some of the democrats or whomever 2 didn't vote...

It’s interesting to me that people think Kavanaugh should be presumed innocent even after it is clear that he lied under oath repeatedly about the topic in question.
It's only clear to TDS suffering fucktards. The rest of us will continue to insist on one of the core beliefs that this country was founded on --- presumed innocence. You may have heard of it. You'll also have to be specific about the 'topic in question'. The goalposts have been in almost constant motion over the last few weeks so it's hard to know what you're whining about now.

Murkowski was present and voted yea for Daines, but did not vote for herself. I don't know who the other one was.

One of the turds wanted to go to his daughter's wedding, so one of the Senators changed his/her vote from 'No' to 'Present' so the rapist could be confirmed.

Yeah, really. A sitting senator punted on voting against a rapist for SCOTUS so one of his/her colleagues wouldn't be inconvenienced by having to actually be there to vote for him. These people are unbelievable ghouls.

Arcane senate tradition and procedure. Murkowski voted "present" so Daines could be at his daughter's wedding. It lets the vote be taken with the same margin as if Daines were there.

My expectation is that Roberts will be somewhat of a restraint in that authority on the hot button issues will be devolved to the states themselves. This approach is certainly going to have its problems as the gulf between different states' laws and regulations widens to a huge distance.

Thing is this WAS NOT a trial, SC appointments are a lifetime gig so those who do get there must be vetted with the highest scrutiny. I cannot believe that Ford just "made this up" as part of a Dem derailment plan, she took a polygraph exam, Kavanaugh did not. When asked about this his reply was "they are not admissible in court", huh?, we all knew this Brett, they are not 100% accurate but in well trained hands approach 95% accurate. The correct method was for BOTH him and Ford to submit to a test run by a neutral 3rd party with the best operator available, at least this would have given some decent footing vs the he said/she said political posturing we saw in the last 2 weeks. The FBI also needed WAY more time than 6 days to begin any semblance of an "investigation", over 40 people did not even get interviewed. I firmly now believe Trump and the GOP who ignored this woman will run into a backlash of unprecedented fury come November. It's one thing to ignore the Hollywood access tape as "boys being boys" but to forcibly attempt to rape someone is far, far past womanizing.

Not surprising that a sexual assault apologist would be more interested in inflicting suffering on others than a serious investigation of the truth.

How long before we see conservatives gloating by talking about how they raped Democrats? The WSJ ran an article after Collins voted in committee or whatever to let the vote happen, and the article title was "Susan Collins consents" and tries to claim that its because she "advises and consents", so it makes total sense for them to remove the advises part, eh? Not to mention the morons think people don't see that the fact that they had to go out of their way to explain the consent part reveals they definitely knew how it was coming off and were pleased, but they of course have to have a bullshit plausible deniability argument queued up. Kinda like how Kavanaugh had a list of women willing to vouch for him prepared for when the Ford allegations (and/or any others) came out.

Going for the rape joke was quite a move.

Collins also stated plainly this morning that she believed Kavanugh was not Ford's assailant even though she believes she was assailed. I guess somebody bought the core of the nuts Whelan story.
