Based on what metric?
My own judgement, and I have stopped trying to replace my judgement with that of others. It's plain that reiterating my reasons is a waste of time, you will never agree with me, as you never have on anything.

This confirmation is a repudiation of the glaring flaw in the #metoo movement, which is that the asserted right for victims to be believed is at direct odds with our most basic precept of criminal justice: the presumption of innocence. A more sane approach is to take accusations seriously, but there must be proof! Finding someone guilty solely on an accusation makes a mockery of justice, and most people can feel that in their bones, even if they are afraid to say it out loud.

People dismissing this double standard as "talking points", do so because they do not have a reason why they believe and support one accuser over the other. Why they believe and support one alleged sexual assaulter/rapist over the other. The only reason is they have a bias, and agenda. They don't really give a shit about alleged victims.

Yet the leftist sheeple will eat whatever turd sandwich is handed to them by their masters. They are blind to the hypocrisy.

I remember being beaten up in quite a few fights. Don't remember the month or years. Certainly remember the guy who did it. Not really sure what your point is.

His point is to obfuscate & duh-vert. Don't talk about Kavanaugh. Don't notice that he misrepresented himself throughout the hearings. Forget the lies & distortions. Don't talk about his time in the Bush admin & all the withheld documents. Don't mention that he likely perjured himself when he was appointed to the appeals court. Forget that McConnell corrupted the process. Forget the obvious lack of judicial temperament he displayed last week.

None of which has anything to do with Ford, of course, but he'll go on as if that's what really matters, not the character & integrity of our newest Supreme Court Justice.

Based on what metric?

For many conservatives winning or losing is the ONLY metric that counts no matter the right or wrong, no matter how badly it hurts the nation, no matter how ugly they look, no matter how corrupted things need to get.

This thing with Kavanaugh is another nail in the coffin of Trump and his Repub Congress Creep's despicable conduct and attitude that's already got way too many nails in it to begin with.

Time after time they prove to any and all how they will use any means necessary to push an agenda that isolate themselves further and further away from the very ideals they purport to cherish and practice as a party.

Fiscal conservatism? Bullshit. Family values? More bullshit. Personal responsibility? Hah! Their being the Moral Majority? Don't make me laugh.

All of these values and ideological underpinnings they've claimed for themselves in order to look down their noses at "the unclean heathen" were flushed down the shitter a long time ago and then made much more glaringly obvious when they chose a proven beyond doubt narcissistically deranged pathological liar as their POTUS.

This was not just every party. It was unique because of the assault that she will never forget. She said it dogged her from then on throughout her life. I would think she would have at least documented somewhere, somehow about the details in case she want to press charges in the future. She still has not filed an official criminal report anywhere. She should have done that at least by 2012 when she first started talking about it.
I agree. In 2012 she should have accused a federal judge of assaulting her 30 years earlier with no proof. What could possibly go wrong?

This is partisanship. The exact mirror of this is occurring on the conservative side. Their rage at the Democrats for dragging up a he said/she said from three decades ago is incandescent. The Republican politicians are doing EXACTLY what their constituents are demanding from them. A politician who did not confirm Kavanaugh would have been run out on a rail by the Republican base which appears to be about 40% of the population.

When I look at Trump's approval ratings, it is staggering when compared to every other President. They simply do not move (all others Presidents had widely moving ratings). The country is effectively split. We have two populations that loathe each other beyond comprehension living in the same country. Every conservative I have spoken to consider progressive Americans as the single greatest threat to American civilization that has ever existed. Greater than Hitler, and greater than the USSR.

Johnathon Haidt showed a study of the partisanship hatred over the course of American history. America is now at levels that are equal to right before the Civil War. We are Balkanized. One does not need to look far to see what happens in Balkanized states eventually. He doesn't believe America can last another 30 years on this trajectory. It does look kind of grim. This has spread throughout Europe as well.

Times have changed. Clinton probably wouldn't have survived a re-election with those kind of rape allegations in today's time. Everyone knows this.

And again, if you're saying leftists are wrong for ignoring the clinton allegations, why aren't you guys talking about the ridiculous large number of sexual assault against Trump even after he pretty much admitted to it on tape? I don't understand why we're bringing up sexual allegations that are unrelated to the current matter. If someone is accused of murder, you can't say "well why did you ignore or not investigate all the other murders done by so and so 10 years ago". Its ludicrous how hard people are going out of their way to spin the issue. At the end of the day, you have a SCOTUS judge we all knew may have sexually assaulted someone in the past and it wasn't an immediate disqualifier. That is concerning.

I bet you would remember If some big linebacker from the football team tried to ****************** you in the shower in high school and he almost succeeded.

Honestly in this day and age, if he were a republican, even if he was caught on tape bragging about it, they still wouldn't believe the accuser. Guys like yourself would be lining up saying it was "locker room talk" and "locker room shower fun" that all young men in showers engaged in.

Yep, I know I have a seat so why rush it?
Way off topic, but this is a big part of why Southwest can turn planes so much quicker than other airlines. People don't have a seat assigned, so they get their ass on the plane quickly to try to get one they want.

Just list or name the perjury incident that you are accusing Kavanaugh of. No diversion, no obfuscation, just a believable and prosecutable crime. You can't because you are lying.

Has anyone noticed we have went from "IS IT A LIE" number one to now "IS IT A LIE" number two?
Stage two of this guy Kavanaugh?

This entire debate/argument has been about WOMEN.
First unknown was DID KAVANAUGH DO IT?
Was he lying? Did he lie? Is he truthful? Does he even want to be truthful?

And now????

Now, the big question revolves around "WILL KAVANAUGH SUPPORT REVERSING ROE VS WADE?"
THAT, people, is now the new million dollar question.
Will Kavanaugh vote to ban abortion when it comes before the high court?
AND IT WILL COME!!!!! Do not doubt THAT.
Kavanaugh has said Roe vs Wade was settled law, then he said just the opposite on paper.
So..... what is it Mr judge?
What will it be?

Well, we have clues.....
In the Kavanaugh case of he said vs she said, republicans obviously believed "he said".
And in fact, and despite their spin, republicans did in fact label Doctor Ford "the lier".
Ford "was" called a blatant lier.
Republicans.... you can't have it both ways.

Now we have abortion.
Will the high court side with settled law? Or instead will this far right extremist court re-settle this law and proceed to ban abortion? All abortion?

There was a reason republicans fought so hard, and why Trump chose Kavanaugh in the first place, and why many states have been narrowing abortion right, chipping away at Roe vs Wade, chip by chip. To have the opportunity to reverse Roe vs Wade.
FULLY EXPECT some state to very soon ban abortion 100% in that state.
Because that state will know this will fly with the speed of light right to the doorstep of this far right extremist court.
Extremist have wanted this moment for many long years.
And they fully expect this to happen in payback for electing Donald Trump.
And more so, Donald Trump knows this. Donald knows HE MUST COME THRU.

So what do you think?
What are the clues, considering what Donald Trump and the far right extremist republicans have done to get to this point in time?
First off, their selling their very souls to elect Donald Trump.
Second, selling what was left of their moral credibility to get Kavanaugh on the court.
So, when it comes to abortion rights and women's rights, how do you think this will go?
And, does anyone really need to ask ?????????
Really? Seriously?

Give me records from Kavanaugh's time in the Bush admin. I'm sure that would clear it up, one way or another.

Per the bolded, Susan Collins will have to answer to that now and forever. I guess she really is against women having domain over their own bodies because her vote chiseled that into the history books as a nod in that direction.

Before I say anything else, I should clarify that my view is that abortion is a necessary evil in today's society. Absolutely evil, but absolutely necessary.

Now that I've alienated just about everyone, no, overturning Roe v. Wade isn't the same as an abortion ban. It gives the states more (basically complete) power to legislate and regulate abortions. Worst case scenario is that women in more conservative states seeking abortions will need to cross state lines to do so legally, which isn't an outcome I'm fond of, but is far short of the SC outright banning abortion.

Roe v. Wade has always been in some degree of peril because the tortured 14th amendment argument used to invoke the ruling was about as flimsy as a Razer peripheral. With the shift towards a conservative supreme court, its days are most likely numbered.

On one hand, I'm in support of correcting bad rulings, even when I see those rulings as beneficial to society, because in the long run judicial overreach seems to be a larger danger. That said, there's a difference between striking down bad rulings because of respect for law, or just because they run counter to some political bias. If one side gains power and replaces bad law from the other side with their own, then that's no improvement.

Besides that, in this particular case I'm not sure if the country can take it. A big supreme court fight over Roe v. Wade will increase political division to stratospheric levels, and doubly so if it succeeds. Given that this fight is probably inevitable, and will probably result in overturning Roe v. Wade, I can only hope that Republicans have enough sense to introduce some kind of surrogate, compromise legislation that at least protects abortion rights across the board for some arguably reasonable amount of time. That's the only way I can see this not ending in complete disaster for the US.

No alienation here, i support abortion in the first trimester. An evil, but a necessary and self regulated one.

I could sketch a detailed layout of the ICU of St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick I can do that because back in 2006 the family had to make a life ending decision

However I can't remember what floor the ICU is on. Does that mean you can claim the rest of my story didn't happen??
There would be some records of your visit to the ICU and the decision that was made (I am sorry to hear that).

Let’s say you witnessed a doctor in residency engage in malpractice during your time at the ICU, but you didn’t notify anyone at the time for a variety of legitimate reasons.

30 years later that same doctor is now up for directorship of a prestigious hospital after a long and successful career, and you decide that now is the time to speak. You don’t remember all of the details, but you know it happened.

We can easily prove you were at the ICU.

Not sure others would necessarily just believe what you saw related to the doctor, especially if there is no pattern of behavior to legitimize your claims.

So conservatives put an unstable man who possibly sexually assualted women in his teens and 20s and the best justification you can come up with is "but Hillary"?

The same woman you have spent decades demonizing and convincing yourselves she is the smartest most diabolical criminal of all time. Is just like the man you put on the Supreme Court by your reasoning.

Hardly. The withholding of pertinent information has been central to efforts to install Kavanaugh. It's highly irregular, as is the simple majority process. McConnell has no compunctions about abusing his power as much as possible.

More like "them". All of them. They all got the "hate and fear thus fear and hate treatment" that their GOP leaders give them in hourly/daily doses on FOX, Limbuagh, Conservative AM radio, Newsmax, Malkin and especially so from the pulpits.

HAHAHAHA!

He "possibly" did something 35 years ago and you're going into hysterics over it. LOL.

Well, I didn't want to bring this up, but bryce jones touched my wiener 35 years ago. I told him no, but he forced himself on me. Everyone I claim saw it might say they don't remember it or even refute it. I don't remember how I met him, where it was, when it was, or what happened after, but I'm 100% sure it was bryce jones. I demand that he lose his job and be publicly humiliated, otherwise you're supporting a rapist. Also, please donate to my gofundme to show how much you hate conservatives and predators.

See how easy that was? How are you ever going to prove me wrong when every one now is convinced by nothing more than their emotions that you groped me? And you guys are dumb enough to fall for it.

Did Bryce also author torture memos for the Bush administration and use tax dollars to further the "Hillary killed Vince Foster" conspiracy theory? Kavanaugh did that.
