Why do you hide behind a serial crisis mentality like bad things can't happen in parallel? It's like an old football playbook; who cares what x did, look how bad y is!!11!!1
You know, some cultures eat babies, who cares about Russialolhacking compared to that?
Hey, that IS fun!
haha

Again, who gives a shit? If you care about ethics then obviously the ethical nightmare currently in the White House is about five orders of magnitude more important.

Discussing Clinton is meaningless because she has no power. Let’s discuss the sewer level ethics of Republicans in the White House and Congress. What do you think of them?

Never mind...

Yup I tapped out a while ago.
I do still feel Kavanaugh is not the right guy for right now but it’s done. All I can hope for is he doesn’t fulfill the yes man position the President wants and he drops the partisan bullshit now that he is in a place where he can’t realistically be removed/reassigned.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. More stupid, hyperpartisan bullshit. I think it's funny that you are so arrogant that you think that simply saying something makes it true.

You're dismissed.

How many Golden Books did you finish as a kid?

Let me guess: you were proud of earning the blue star, and then stopped, right?

Obviously the investigation and the nomination are over, but I'll just leave this here: Kavanaugh Accuser Admits She Fabricated Allegations as a ‘Ploy’ for ‘Attention’

And to be clear this particular accusation was not a meaningful part of the hearing or the debate as to why Kavanaugh was unqualified.

It sure does point out why Democrats were right in calling for an investigation though. It's a great way to separate the credible accusations from the non-credible as it seems this one fell apart quite quickly under scrutiny. I wonder why Republicans were so disinterested in investigating the other accusations? haha.

Investigate them all, you know the thing that didn't happen.

But then Kavanaugh's name would have been cleared and we would have had a SCOTUS justice who was viewed as far more legitimate than he is now while not reducing the confirmation process to a sham. Everyone would have won!

Gee, I wonder why Republicans fought tooth and nail against that route, considering how good it would have been for them. I can't think of a single reason.

CBF is donating the remaining money from the GoFundMe (after paying for the security expenses).

Please tell me more about her motives.

Sounds reasonable that she is using part of it for security expenses but I don't believe anyone thought her motive was the money. I don't think she was expecting a GoFundMe account. She must have had other expenses besides security that need to be paid. I know her legal support was pro bono.

Kavanaugh absolutely does have quite a dark shady background, besides the raping thing.
Remember, Kavanaugh worked in the office of special counsel Ken Starr, the guy that went after the Clinton's. The guy that was "suppose" to investigate Whitewater, found nothing, thus expanded into all other areas of the Clinton's life searching for something, anything he could use against the Clinton's.
Sound familiar Donald Trump????

Hillary claimed there was a "Vast right wing conspiracy" who's sole duty was to go after the Clinton's.
Out of ken Starr's office, and involving others who's names we will never know, there were indeed this dark underground of conservatives known as "THE FAIRES".
They were well funded, highly secret, very powerful politically, vastly right winged group of unknowns that did in fact conduct covert activities against Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Kavanaugh was thought to be part of that group known as the Faires, when he was working in the office of Ken Starr.

And now.... Donald Trump has successfully placed Kavanaugh onto the highest court in the land.
See how all of this works?
And see how the dots are connected?
And people actually believed that Donald Trump was just some outsider, a rebel of sorts with no political connections nor a political axe to grind.
The outsider that was going to strip things up.
In all truth, Donald Trump is embedded as few others have been within the politics of past.
Trump is no outsider, far from it.
Donald Trump is right in the middle of the mess. He always has been going back to the Clinton era.
Ken Starr, Kavanaugh, Donald Trump, same old crap.... different day. Different era.

People are so naive. They have no idea of the power and the money that controls our politics.
Those dark, sinister, individuals that forever remain nameless, forever operating in the shadows of great wealth, who control every aspect of our politics past and present.
It's enough to make George Washington turn in his grave.

Plenty of people were saying all but with all the nonsense about her lack of evidence and lack of corroboration, as though her testimony were disqualified because of... some kind of magic man-reasons. I mean all she wanted to do was undermine the very good brain president and instead all she got was a nigh-endless stream of death threats and her assaulter on the SCOTUS.

But her (memory)*!

*standing in for emails, obviously

Senate investigation into Brett Kavanaugh assault claims contained serious omissions

"The suggestion that Kavanaugh was the victim of mistaken identity was sent to the judiciary committee by a Colorado-based attorney named Joseph C Smith Jr, according to a non-redacted copy of a 2018 email obtained by the Guardian. Smith was a friend and former colleague of the judiciary committee’s then lead counsel, Mike Davis.

Smith was also a member of the Federalist Society, which strongly supported Kavanaugh’s supreme court nomination, and appears to have a professional relationship with the Federalist Society’s co-founder, Leonard Leo, whom he thanked in the acknowledgments of his book Under God: George Washington and the Question of Church and State.

Smith wrote to Davis in the 29 September 2018 email that he was in a class behind Kavanaugh and Ramirez (who graduated in the class of 1987) and believed Ramirez was likely mistaken in identifying Kavanaugh.

Instead, Smith said it was a fellow classmate named Jack Maxey, who was a member of Kavanaugh’s fraternity, who allegedly had a “reputation” for exposing himself, and had once done so at a party. To back his claim, Smith also attached a photograph of Maxey exposing himself in his fraternity’s 1988 yearbook picture.

The allegation that Ramirez was likely mistaken was included in the Senate committee’s final report even though Maxey – who was described but not named – was not attending Yale at the time of the alleged incident.

In an interview with the Guardian, Maxey confirmed that he was still a senior in high school at the time of the alleged incident, and said he had never been contacted by any of the Republican staffers who were conducting the investigation.

“I was not at Yale,” he said. “I was a senior in high school at the time. I was not in New Haven.” He added: “These people can say what they want, and there are no consequences, ever.”"

^^^ No consequences ever. Sounds about right.

You know @Perknose that I like you and respect you, but it’s often better, at some point, to let sleeping dogs lie. Being angry or resentful for years, or even decades, in the case of Clarence Thomas, serves no beneficial psychological function.

These people are truly the elite - they are at the pinnacle of power in our society, no rehashing or former bad behaviors is going to move that needle one iota. IMHO.

Obviously, post all you want - I’m not arguing against that. Just raising the point that I don’t think it’s productive for individuals or are little group at large. /steps off soap box.

Yeah unless you're a Democrat. No limits to how far back or how pedantic we get when criticizing those heathens.

Bullshit, not pointing out dishonesty allows it to continue. And frankly if you're not fucking angry and pissed off by now then you obviously don't give a shit about what happens in this country.
