I agree. Best case scenario is that Kavanaugh was a typical fratboy dude bro. Worst case scenario he assaulted her. In between is perhaps a poor decision he should apologize for but also disqualifies him.

There is no way to salvage his nomination without attacking what Ford went through in therapy.

I don’t think a reasonable prosecutor would bring charges against Kavanaugh, but this is now about optics and damage control.

Pandora’s boxes. This is what the GOP gets for ramming a judge down the Senate’s throat, but you can also expect future nominations to get even more dirty.

If the GOP manages to hold onto the Senate, will be interesting to see who Trump nominates next. Round 2 is going to be even uglier.

Personally, I think bret's history in the bush white house is reason enough to disqualify him along with lying under oath. The fact that he's a federalist society member and was picked by them also lends suspect to his ability to reason objectively.

FBI has not investigated this because circumstances dictate that request needs to come from the White House. Needs to be granted immediately. Also since Trump was so gung ho on lie detector tests Kavanaugh needs to submit to one. Their results added to the list of evidence.

Only way Democrats can stop a nomination is if they convince a Republican to go along with them. Certainly possible, but this is high stakes for power on the SCOTUS. Don't be surprised if both parties stop at nothing to "win" it.

Barrett would be an obvious next stop but you'll lose Collins and Murkowski however can pick up some red state dems (with the exception of Jones). It would be tight but certainly doable.

This doesn't strike me as credibly accused. Marvelously vague 35-year-old accusation with (so far) no corroborating evidence that was deliberately withheld during the initial hearing.
