God you're dumb.

Do you think the Senate is going to confirm Kavanaugh while he's under FBI investigation, and before the midterms?

Once midterms hit Trump is done for and Kavanaugh will have zero chance even if he is found to be totally innocent (unlikely).
Yes.

Do you think Mitch McConnell has any sense of shame or decency?

Ford is saying she won't appear before the Committee unless and until an FBI Investigation has concluded.

This whole thing stinks...and I can't put a finger on what it is, but something about how this letter was leaked seems off and it's gotta be one of the Dems to blame (I don't think it was Feinstein). I feel like Ford is being used as a pawn, a delay tactic to prevent Kavanaugh and whether you believe her or not, that's wrong. I think she's telling a truth, but she had no intention of coming forward until she was dragged unwillingly into the spotlight.

I almost get the sense that there is entirely some other reason that Dems want an FBI investigation (likely just to stall) and they see Ford as nothing more than a means to that end.

I agree. The timing is very suspect.

Nope they wont. Never thought they would. If Im so dumb why would I welcome an investigation?

We can agree to disagree.

She wants the facts on her side, not a he said she said. Makes perfect sense for her side.

Besides if she's telling the truth.. why would she be scared of an investigation. Sure as hell seems the GOP, Senate and White House are the ones not wanting to investigate.

I agree. And based on Kavanaugh's quotes, he isnt afraid of an investigation either.

I like the news that women from his college days are sending in letters of support.
Like, "He's such a nice guy. He could never behave like this."
Kinda like what they always say after every school shooting, "He seemed like such a nice quiet average everyday guy."
Allowing Trump to choose an US Supreme Court justice is like having Charles Manson choose your daughters next boyfriend.

This is the letter from the lawyer to Grassley:

KATZ, MARSHALL

&

BANKS,

By Electronic Mail
September 18, 2018

The Honorable Charles E. Grassley
Chairman, Committee on the Judiciary
United States Senate
135 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510

Dear Senator Grassley:

Thank you for reaching out yesterday afternoon. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford looks forward to working with you and the Committee.

As you know, earlier this summer, Dr. Ford sought to tell her story, in confidence, so that lawmakers would have a fuller understanding of Brett Kavanaugh’s character and history. Only after the details of her experience were leaked did Dr. Ford make the reluctant decision to come
forward publicly.

In the 36 hours since her name became public, Dr. Ford has received a stunning amount of support from her community and from fellow citizens across our country. At the same time, however, her worst fears have materialized. She has been the target of vicious harassment and
even death threats. As a result of these kind of threats, her family was forced to relocate out of their home. Her email has been hacked, and she has been impersonated online.

While Dr. Ford’s life was being turned upside down, you and your staff scheduled a public hearing for her to testify at the same table as Judge Kavanaugh in front of two dozen U.S. Senators on national television to relive this traumatic and harrowing incident. The hearing was scheduled for six short days from today and would include interrogation by Senators who appear to have made up their minds that she is “mistaken” and “mixed up.” While no sexual assault survivor should be subjected to such an ordeal, Dr. Ford wants to cooperate with the Committee and with law enforcement officials.

As the Judiciary Committee has recognized and done before, an FBI investigation of the incident should be the first step in addressing her allegations. A full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions.

Lobbing abuse at women; one of the few things these traitorous alt-right pussies are proficient at. It's pathetic.

This is what a chance to put women back in their place does to assholes though.

Grassley cancels meeting to advance nomination after hearing set for Kavanaugh and his accuser

    • Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Tuesday canceled a crucial committee meeting where members were expected to hold a vote to advance Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.
    • The announcement is a win for the committee's 10 Democrats, who called for a delay in Kavanaugh's proceedings following a bombshell allegation from Christine Blasey Ford made public over the weekend.
    • Ford, 51, accused President Donald Trump's second high court nominee of sexual assault in the 1980s when they were teenagers, a charge Kavanaugh denies.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Tuesday canceled a crucial committee meeting where members were expected to hold a vote to advance Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.

The meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. ET, was not immediately given a new date or time.

Simple, if the FBI investigates and does not find anything to back up Ford then she will not appear before the committee and will go away. If they do find something, which I doubt they will with no real significant details of the incident, then she will appear before the committee. Dems are hoping FBI will be able to find something.

No one forced them to pick a rapist. John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Gorsuch (even though I don't like him) were all never accused of rape.

Is it that hard to find a non rapist scotus nominee?

So it’s rape now? Look up the legal definition of rape and see if it matches her description.

Except there is the fact that she told her therapist and husband this in 2012.

That is a concrete fact.

It is attempted rape and that is a crime in all 50 states!

Another concrete fact.

Ofcourse you could always make a country called Trumpland and say that isn't a crime.

The fact that she said it happened does not make it a fact that it actually heppened even if she said it in 2012.

It’s evidence that this wasn’t fabricated for a political purpose and shows that her story has been consistent for some time.

Why would anyone make up something like that in private with their therapist?

It is evidence that she’s probably telling the truth though.

You ever get the feeling that guys who get agitated by this metoo# thing are recoiling at the thought that maybe their own behavior in the past wasn’t as benign as they believed?

How does the FBI investigate something that happened over 35 years ago? Wouldn’t it just be based on he said/she said? Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge already denied it and no one else has come forward so it’s just her words vs theirs?
