First, any filibuster we get rid of is a positive for the country.

Second, anyone who thinks the judicial filibuster should have stayed should put the blame squarely on Mitch McConnell. He said that Republicans would filibuster ALL Democratic nominees for the DC circuit, regardless of qualifications. That meant that despite not having the presidency or the senate Republicans were vetoing any future appointments to the most important courts in the nation. To anyone who gives a single shit about the function of government that's an unacceptable situation and so McConnell got what he asked for.

Also, anyone who thinks the Republicans would not have abolished the judicial filibuster as soon as they won in 2016 is almost comically naive. The only mistake Reid made was not abolishing the filibuster entirely.

Elections have consequences.

Smoke and Mirrors... the senate has access to over 500,000 documents, which is MORE than ALL the documents examined from the last 5 supreme court nominees COMBINED.
How much more documentation do you need?

Furthermore if most of the senate has already made their mind up how they will vote, why do they need more documents?

This is quite simply a stall tactic to push back this nomination to after November.

Because of his extensive history in the Whitehouse! There is a reason that there is allot of documentation. Some is selectively omitted. I'm sure there is a legitimate executive privilege for some document, not 100K!

One of literally a thousand things could be transpiring there other than that woman being paid to protest and you have no idea.

Doc, you are seriously losing your grip on reality. I'm not sure what's happened in recent years that's caused you to go so far off the deep end but you're in tinfoil hat territory now.
If the statements of several eyewitness accounts along with corroborating photos isn't going to persuade you....nothing will. And you have the chutzpah to accuse me of losing my grip on reality? ROFLMAO

The projection is strong with you.

I miss our more interesting conservative posters. The current crowd of sock puppets is tedious (not referring to you DSF, you're still a treasure). Come back Stew!

I know if I saw someone handing out money in a waiting line I'd go see if I could get some, but I'm not a doctor. I'd at least ask what it was about and take video, not just pictures while asking them. I also don't see her standing in any line.

You were talking about republicans playing hardball as if it happened in a vacuum. Obama set this tone 3 days after his inauguration.

You cannot possibly be serious. You realize that DURING Obama's inauguration Republicans had already decided to oppose him on everything, right?

Regardless, Obama was by any sane measure a president who famously tried to work across the aisle to his political detriment. That's one of the enduring criticisms of his presidency, that he was trying so hard to be bipartisan he refused to acknowledge that the Republicans had no interest in bipartisanship.

You are engaging in revisionist history.

With every single eyewitness account being a personal friend of the conservative activist who wrote the post. ROFLMAO indeed, haha. The 'corroborating photos' do nothing to establish what was happening there either and you know it.

Like I said Doc, you're losing it.

Looks like glenn1 is gone...and I don't blame him one bit. I may follow him soon.

You have repeatedly threatened to leave and yet you always come back. In the past you even admitted how irrational and angry this place was making you so I'm not sure why you came back for more.

I suspect you won't be missed by very many if you do go though. It's hard to remember the last time you contributed anything here other than insults for people who dared tell you that you're wrong, whining about how mean everyone is to you and your usual 'who, me?' shtick.

Where did I admit that this place was making me irrational and angry? If anything, it makes me sad.

You are engaging in revisionist history.

So as I understand it then: 15 republicans, two of whom weren't even in office, and notably lacking the Senate and House minority leaders, met to discuss derailing Obama's agenda. You think this meeting was responsible for the direction of the entire party as represented in the house and senate at the time, some 247 people?

Secondly, do you think Obama knew about this meeting and was responding in kind?

And anyway, perhaps Republicans were pushing back after democrats obstructed Bush.

Hmm, I can't find the post for the moment and I sadly can't remember the exact terms you used.

My search did turn up countless posts about you whining about how the whole forum was biased against you though, haha.
