The part of me that went to school with masters-of-the-universe douchebags wants to see these allegations take Kavanaugh down. The rational part of me wants Kavanaugh to be tossed aside as his perverse judicial outlook is repudiated. Of course, either way, he still has a lifetime appointment to the federal bench.

I figure that the GOP will cut & run with the committee vote on Monday. Flake or Hatch would be perfect for the job of flipping to vote with the Dems & killing the whole thing. They're both retiring & everybody knows Hatch was born with a stick up his ass, anyway.

I think they rather try to get Kavanaugh to withdraw himself. Too many deplorables will think there's some giant conspiracy among a bunch of "RINOs"

That's all you got? Two people consensually making out, Cory grabs boob, she pushes it away and he stops?

Really? You are comparing that to grabbing a girl into a room and forcing yourself on her, she tries to scream, you cover her mouth and don't let her leave?

You really have the nerve to compare the two??

Seriously?
It took Obama* to make me realize how rampant racism still was in the US. And now because of Trump, I am realizing how many people seem to approve of sexual assault.

*The reaction to Obama, not Obama himself.

WTF, if any of this is true, Kavanaugh is toast for SURE
I think he is done either way. Do you think the Senate will actually bring women in, question them about getting gang raped, then confirm the guy they said did it? I know republican have no morals, and party before country, but I don't see them going forward with this if women actually come forward with gang rape acquisitions.

That CNN "panel" of R women saying they basically expect this of young men is certainly among the most dangerous ideas to come out of this farce so far. Disgusting, too.

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I think this tweet says a lot about why they continue to push so hard for this guy.

I agree with that, but there are very few elections they could win with just their base.

Yeah, I have no idea how any of this will translate in November... Trump was elected after a recording of him talking about assaulting women surfaced. I was more thinking along the lines that this explains their insane intention to continue pushing on this nomination.

I think a problem with the whole #MeToo movement is that much of it lacked graphic details. So people are able to downplay what actually happened in their heads. Just like the idiot in this thread that thinks going for second base twice is the same as the attempted rape of Ford.

I seriously doubt anybody except for a fellow assaulter would ever truly think holding down a screaming woman and covering her mouth so other couldn't hear was normal. But those details are getting lost in the noise and the media's purdeness.

Plus of course, it seems the republican base can justify ANYTHING right now.

Actually the funny thing is, it's not in the Senate's hands really (outside of holding a vote). Either Kavanaugh has to drop out on his own or the Whitehouse has to withdraw him. Trump could be batshit crazy enough to hold out for Kavanaugh because he knows he could count on his vote if he ever gets in legal trouble. That and he probably sees him as a kindered spirit considering the avalanche of sexual assault allegations coming out against him now.

I'm sure the senate will try to not hold a vote. But if it is forced, I don't see them approving if women actually come in and say they were gang raped.

The Senate could also refuse to hold a vote, which would effectively kill the nomination.

As I offered earlier, Kavanaugh still has to pass a vote of the judiciary committee. A single defection would kill it w/o any testimony or addl voting.

I know the new story has you folks in circle jerk mode. But the statement sometime in 1983 or 1984 school year should have put your warning flags up. A drunk girl that can't even remember the year something happens knows, just knows that it was Supreme Court Nominee Kavanaugh after 6 days of memory consulting with her lawyer ......yes
"After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney"
We'll see how it turns out.

Math is another one your weaknesses, isn't it?
Screw you, you ignorant dipshit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Bork_Supreme_Court_nomination
On October 6, Bork's nomination was rejected in the committee by a 9–5 vote.[18] Since a committee rejection made a rejection by the full (Democratic) Senate extremely likely, Bork was widely expected to concede defeat and withdraw his name from a floor consideration.[15] However, three days later, Bork announced his belief that:

There should be a full debate and a final Senate decision. In deciding on this course, I harbor no illusions. But a crucial principle is at stake. That principle is the way we select the men and women who guard the liberties of all the American people. That should not be done through public campaigns of distortion. If I withdraw now, that campaign would be seen as a success, and it would be mounted against future nominees. For the sake of the Federal judiciary and the American people, that must not happen. The deliberative process must be restored.[19]

Faced with certain defeat, Bork's political support fell silent; Bork would even express disappointment with Reagan's tepid continued endorsement. On October 23, 1987, the Senate rejected Bork's confirmation, with 42 Senators voting in favor and 58 voting against. Democratic Senator"

So not only do you suck at math but apparently you suck at reading comprehension.

I'd ask you what's it like to be so fucking stupid but I'm pretty sure even that question is too challenging for you.

Btw, thanks for proving my point with your citation! Lol!

Fine, so let's take Kavaugh out of the running and replace him with someone else. ANY candidate put forward is going to be subject to a smear campaign. To the left, the end justifies the means. There will never be a right candidate chosen by this administration, in their eyes. So, smear away, but I hope it all comes back to bite them. If this is the norm, we can kiss the republic goodbye. Disgusting, but I'm not surprised in the least. This shit is playbook. The thing to do is give the left a big middle finger and confirm Kavanaugh. It will send a message that their games are not going to work anymore.

I'd be surprised if any Supreme Court Nominee from now on is going to have this kind of sexual smear thrown at them.

It's going to be de rigeur for both Democrat and Republican nominations.
