Hilarious yes, surprising - not in the slightest. The media has them chasing shiny objects every single day. What's truly amazing to me is that they never develop a sense that they're being duped. Never direct their ire against the entities keeping them agitated. Instead they fall in line and get angry at the people the media points them towards. They get smoke blown up their asses every day, sometimes multiple times a day and then get mad at everybody but those that are manufacturing the smoke.

Again, the total lack of irony here is simply amazing.

Do we think boomerang really, truly doesn't understand he's describing himself to a T?

And who started that 51 vote nonsense? Harry Reid and the democrats invoked the change to the rules and created the nuclear option.

Senator Mitch McConnell stood on the Senate floor and issued a warning to the Democrats who then controlled the majority.

“I say to my friends on the other side of the aisle, you’ll regret this,” McConnell, then the minority leader, told them. “And you may regret it a lot sooner than you think.”

I think the democrats rule change is bearing fruit.
Reid didn't just do that on a whim. Remember before Obama took office Mitch was having meetings to plan giving him the shiv. Republicans were not approving his judicial appointments.

And it will continue to snowball. Mitch stealing that seat from Obama by holding out for almost one year will bite the GOP in their ass soon.

First, any filibuster we get rid of is a positive for the country.

Second, anyone who thinks the judicial filibuster should have stayed should put the blame squarely on Mitch McConnell. He said that Republicans would filibuster ALL Democratic nominees for the DC circuit, regardless of qualifications. That meant that despite not having the presidency or the senate Republicans were vetoing any future appointments to the most important courts in the nation. To anyone who gives a single shit about the function of government that's an unacceptable situation and so McConnell got what he asked for.

Also, anyone who thinks the Republicans would not have abolished the judicial filibuster as soon as they won in 2016 is almost comically naive. The only mistake Reid made was not abolishing the filibuster entirely.

If Dems take over the Senate Trump will get no more appointments unless specifically approved by them.

That better be the way it is. If not, we will end up with a permanent asymmetric situation that will inevitably lead to super right wing courts. They would be insane to do otherwise.

The thing is that Republicans were trying to stop all appointments to the courts when they didn't hold the presidency OR the senate. That's why the appointment filibuster is gone. They reap what they sow.

Perhaps it was due to fact that she needed to be nearby when she introduced Kavanaugh or spoke on his behalf during the hearing. This makes sense to reasonable people....but what you're suggesting is crazy.

If you can't accept that she was intentionally sending that sign, you are being intentionally obtuse. We can debate what it means, but she intentionally did that. It is not "tin-foil hat stuff" but she did it on purpose.

At least admit he got a text and subsequently did it for some effect. I am not going to get worked up about it yet. When the dudes with Swastikas on their sleeves are start showing up at hearings, I hope you accept it's not a coincidence...

That last part is just fanciful speculation, but I think if you took a moment and admitted "something is there, but we can't be sure what she means" you would get less grief.

I don't really get the outrage over Kavanaugh not shaking his hand. It's very awkward, and the man would possibly continue had Kavanaugh stayed there.

Why was that guy there in the first place other than to campaign for gun control which is making a political statement? Being a Judge they should be neutral and present themselves that way. Outside the courthouse in a non-work environment it might have made sense for him to shake his hand or give him a light hug but while interviewing for a job that requires neutrality of thought, he handled it the correct way. There was also security around him and they may have and most likely told him to refrain from engaging with anybody that approaches him.

It is silly how childish the wailing and political grandstanding was at that hearing from the observers and the committee.

Good luck trying to convince the progressheviks with logic. They just burrow deeper into their hole of idiocracy.

THIS is what democrats need to do. Must do if they regain control.
Number one: Impeach Donald Trump.
Two: Un-do all that Donald Trump has done.
Rolling back every one of Trump's executive orders.
And that includes REMOVING both justice Neil Gorsuch and the soon to be confirmed Brett Kavanaugh. We have ways of doing this. Including impeachment of the justice(s) not for what they have done but because they were installed by an impeached president.
Then democrats must give Obama's nominee a full hearing.
That is what democrats must do, if only they hd the balls.
And were able t play the game as dirty as republicans play the game.
Republicans would not hesitate to reverse and remove all that Obama has done if the situation were reversed.

You forgot the part of dressing in brown shirts.

That's vague & diversionary nonsense wrt the point I offered. Confirming SCOTUS justices by a mere 51 votes isn't normal or "conservative" in the slightest. It's quite radical & symptomatic of GOP efforts to bend the system to benefit the wealthy & powerful more than it already does.

Really?

My "ilk" indeed. LOL

I'm all for the first amendment. I'm just not a fan of interfering with the function of an official procedure and disturbing the peace.

So you advocate for reasonable limits on constitutional rights?

Kavanagh will screw working class Trump supporters the most, while paying them lip service on abortion. He is first and foremost a corporatist, just like the other Republican justices on SCOTUS. Educated liberal elites have leverage to negotiate working conditions and terms in excess of government protections, because we are urban and rely on our brains for work, meaning we can take our expertise to many local competitors if the company steps out of line. But if you are a coal worker or manufacturing worker in a rural area, then your options and leverage are very limited, and with Republican SCOTUS gutting labor laws, company can do what they want and you will be forced to eat shit in arbitration.
