OK ill start to post CPU and iGPU benchmarks of the A10-7700K vs A10-5800K, both at 4GHz no turbo (CPU) and 800MHz for the iGPU.

Both on 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX Genesis 2133MHz 11-12-11 1.65V on ASUS A88XM-Plus FM2+ motherboard with ThermalTake TR2 380W Bronze PSU. The AMD 125W CPU Heat-Sink was used for both.
Win 8.1 64bit on a 1TB SATA-3 Seagate HDD with Catalyst 14.4

Edit: NB for both was set at 2000MHz

I have chosen those two SKUs because they both have the same iGPU number of cores (384). Trinity uses the TeraScale 3 VLIW4 GPU architecture and Kaveri is using the GCN architecture.
Both have two Modules 4 Threads CPUs, but Trinity is using the Vishera architecture and Kaveri is using the SteamRoller architecture.
Also Trinity is manufactured at 32nm and Kaveri at 28nm.

Edit: 27-07-2014 (AIDA Added)

Lets start with 3D Mark. Ill update the OP with more Benchmarks along the way.

Kaveri is ~36% faster in Fire Strike, 17% faster in Cloud Gate and 5% faster in Ice Storm.

Edit 28-07-2014
: I will have to apologize, i have mistakenly used the Default settings score for the A10-5800K. I have included both 4GHz and Default scores now so you can see the difference.
Interestingly at Default, the A10-5800K is a little faster, probable because it has turbo at 4.2GHz.

If you can try to do some rendering test using Vray 3.0. I can hand in a bench scene I'm currently using for this purpose.

Sorry i dont have the A10-7700K anymore.
ill have Pov-Ray and Cinebench results.

But for future testing, do i need to have Maya for the Vray 3.0 ??

Nice one, thanks Aten-Ra Could you compare with an A10-7850k as well? It would be nice to see if the extra CUs make a difference.

I would definitely like to see 7850K vs 7700K with iGPU @ 960 mhz (or as close as you can get it).

Im sure they are staying at 4GHz all the time. This is a manual setting through bios and the Heat-sink is more than enough to keep it cool.

I know that 7850k in manual overclocking mode on Asrock FM2A88X extreme 4+ overclocked to 4.0 on CPU and 1.0 IGP throttled CPU to 3GHz as soon as igp was stressed to keep within 95W TDP power consumption.

Check a clocks graph in monitoring software (aida, or even AMD overdrive)

I dont believe something like that happened on the ASUS A88XM-Plus.

I've read its common.

From hardware.fr review:
http://www.hardware.fr/articles/915-1/apu-amd-a8-7600-test-ctdp-turbo-retour-kaveri.html

They are using the same motherboard as you do.
7850k:

7700K:

6800K:

during CPU only load it sticks to its nominal frequency and after some time thermal throttling occurs. But CPU+GPU load forces low power CPU stage immediately.

6800k doesnt do anything like it. There is a work-around to disable this kaveri behavior, but it needs to be re-done every system startup which is a hassle.

Also, the did the same test as you do:

Throttling to 3 ghz (or 2.8 ghz on the 7700K) is known behavior that has yet to be defeated through the BIOS alone. There is a way to defeat it, at least until you reboot anyway.

Otherwise, you will get throttling under heavy iGPU load.

There is simpler way. You need to have AMD OverDrive. Go to clock and voltage in performance control. Click the "turbo control button" and disable uncheck "enable turbo core" checkbox. Your apu now works with full power. My was capable of taking 250Watts @ wall

From me? Not really. The APU system was build for my sister to play new the Sims 4, which is quite overkill given the required spec for this game...
All I remember was 280Watt @ wall when running OCCT CPU stress test + furmark. Accidentally LN mode enabled itself - 1.55V on CPU and god knows how much on igp. I swear it wasn't me!

Were you able to OC past 4.5 ghz and get additional performance doing it?

I am assuming this set-up has an aftermarket cooler?

If so, I wonder what happens if the user has the stock cooler?

How much CPU performance can we expect (under full GPU load) under those circumstances?
